ESPECIALLY in the case of fanfic, where the dumbass plagiarism bot has NO fucking idea what ME is actually like!!

so the fic is wildly inconsistent in tone because it’s drawing off of stolen work from a bunch of different sci-fi franchises

none of the characters have any internal thoughts bc ChatGPT is just spewing out words in a semi-coherent order, not crafting a narrative with intent

i really did love the last alarm. i have a few questions about it (apparently there was a wake/scenes with the families that were cut for the procession? i would have rather seen those, even though it means i would have been blindsided about the whole bobby thing) but yeah! it was a great episode. it actually made me feel better about bobby being dead because i thought they were going somewhere interesting with it.

but 8x17 and 8x18 shit all over bobby’s legacy (buck), the characterizations of everyone except buck, and were generally so unsatisfying (this is my own fault for seeing the parallel talk about six feet under and 911 in terms of the timing when peter exited and believing that 911 was capable of wanting to pull off the same thing) that while jumping the shark and rewriting the last three episodes would be weird, at this point i would just shrug and be like “still better than the finale!” and totally buy it if the season 9 premiere told us it turned out that chim was in a coma because of the cchf and all this happened while he was recovering from the anti-viral. like. i would simply yell “hi bobby!” and ride that shark infested wave all the way back to shore.
