it's just really interesting that the only arguments I've seen against contradictory labels has just been rehashed transphobia.
"Men are trying to invade women's spaces!" about the term "lesboy", a term often used by butch, multigender, intersex, and nonbinary people who simply have a more complicated relationship with their gender and sexuality. Also, this same argument has been used against Trans Women for ages.
"Women are just trying to fetishize gay men!" about the term "turigirl", a term often used by multigender, intersex, and nonbinary people. This is the same argument used against Trans Men identifying as gay, by the way.
At the end of the day, no one is Forcing you to date people who call themselves lesboys and turigirls. That's not a thing. If you keep using your transphobic straw man attacks against terminology used BY queer people, you're just gonna end up transphobic and queerphobic.
And no, you can't call yourself queer if you're anti contradictory labels. You can't. Queer is a political identity. A political identity to reject societal norms (put simply; of course, there is more to it than that). You simply can't be queer if you uphold those norms, which... being anti contradictory labels does.

awesome interaction i had today was with real life people in real life and one was a lesbian and they were cool adults and i was like "i feel like.. a lesbian today. like i know im male but like im lesbian today" (im abrosexual for those who are new) like this is at a group thing i go to and we have these check-in things we follow (like a community circle)
anyways these awesome real life people irl in real life who were grown adults and both lesbians were like "you can identify with whatever you're comfortable with!" and the other was like "i find that awesome, actually" and it just reminded me how refreshing it is to talk to non-online queer people because this discourse doesnt really matter /isnt prominent anywhere outside of online spaces
reminder to find local queer groups & events irl because its awesome and a real refresher if any of you are deep in queer discourse

The fact that people say “oh well lesboys are misgendering themselves” no they’re not because lesbians can be men, it’s not that “oh we’re different so we can be lesbians” lesbians can be men, even cis men (perisex and intersex)
