I have been absolutely blown away by the response to this post. While I post my Sims pics to give others a glimpse in to my game, it is awesome to get such great feedback.
@nervosims, @helene2troie, @sterina-sims, @12raben, @jonnyparable, @anachronisims, @gold33, @katatty, @maksplaygroundsims2, @princesspiratecat & @eulaliasims- Thank you all so much, especially since there are some many of you who have the most gorgeous 'hoods as well!
And @anachronisims- Yes, these 'hoods are mostly boulders. the regular Maxis sized ones, plus larger and smaller ones, and Sophie-David's Neighborhood Volcanoes. There is a bunch of other deco used, but I went a bit wild with the rocks. I wanted there to be consistency with the neighborhoods, like you know they are from the same world, but all have individual seasonal patterns, biomes, races and flora/fauna.

I have no idea what Tumblr's problem is lately (other than being Tumblr), so if you guys get double replies from me, I apologize in advance.

Hello! I wanted to recolor some fabulous bookcases I have that are repositoried to the cheap Maxis bookcases. They are called Shuffle Me Shelving, and I use them all the time. The problem is that I want to give credit to the creator, but the beginning of the file is just fws. I did a little tracking and found that this might be Fairywitchsims, but I can't be certain. Do you know anything about that creator? She has stuff on TSR, but not the shelves.
Hello hello! :-D so sorry for my late reply. Iâm pretty sure I found the bookcases! They are indeed by Fairywitchsims like you mentioned and they can be found over at the graveyard, here! Itâs the file called âfairywitchsims_ShuffleMeShelving.rarâ :-)

Hello Darling! So, after I had a beautiful game with the new reshade and spent hours and hours tweaking it, I took a few screenshots with Greenshot. However, when I went to go take a look at them I just had a bit blue blob for all of the pictures! Ahh! So I have to ask, what screen capture program are you using? I prefer to not use the in-game one since the pics it takes are so small.
I use Gadwin! Very simple and Iâve had no issues with it whatsoever. Glad you got it working! Iâm loving it so much even though my game is literally empty right now.Â
princesspiratecat replied to your post âOMG, I'M GLAD THAT'S OVER!â
If you don't like kids, why did you choose to have any? Doesn't make sense.
Itâs a good question! The answer is that I was pressured into it...
At the time (the early 90s), I was a Christian and the leadership of the church my then-husband and I attended came under the influence of certain teachings that espouse large families (to out-breed the heathens), homeschooling for the express purpose of isolating kids from all outside influences, and submissive women/girls who cater to their husbands/fathers as the key to marital happiness. My husband at the time came to be all in on the submissive women stuff -- because he didn't like that I was the opposite of submissive -- though not hugely into the idea of having a dozen kids. But he did want some. I really didn't.Â
But during very....letâs call it intense "counseling" sessions with my pastor, his wife, and some other church elders, I was heavily pressured into believing that my whole outlook would change if I just submitted and got pregnant. I should have known that it wouldn't because I had already birthed a kid conceived in rape, about 10 years prior to all this. I even pointed that out, but I was told that the circumstances of that were so different that it wasn't the same and blah blah. And then when my outlook âshockinglyâ didn't change as the pregnancy progressed and after Kid 1 was born, I was told that I was just being rebellious because my "heart wasn't properly surrendered" and my upbringing by feminist parents had corrupted my mind and, perhaps because I wasnât a virgin when I married (because Iâd been raped), I didn't want to accept my true, godly identity as a wife and mother and I needed to pray more and blah blah. Pressure and damaging insinuations and a heaping helping of shaming:Â Thatâs why I had kids. It was great. :\
And as it turns out, having kids doesnât actually save troubled marriages. Whoâda thunk it, right? Things went downhill when my âtude didnât get better, there was even more intense pressuring and insinuations and shaming masquerading as âcounseling,â and eventually a second kid was conceived. Bad idea. When I was pregnant with her, my husband abruptly left me. Partly because of the stress, my daughter was born very prematurely, making me a single mother who doesnât like small children with a three-year-old and a preemie infant who spent the first six weeks of her life in the NICU. That was great, too. :\
All that said, I loved my kids, even back then. Itâs possible to love your kid but not like them. Once they became older kids, thatâs when I bonded with them. Now that theyâre adults, weâre very close, especially my daughter, who is very much a Mini-Me, and I. My son and I...Thereâs contention and always has been, much of it caused by his dadâs method of extricating himself from our marriage, but these days itâs mostly because of religious differences. (Iâm no longer Christian; he still is, very much so, and he wants me to be one again.) So I donât regret having them at all, though if I had it to do all over, I wouldnât have kids, no. And having them and struggling through raising them didnât make me a person who likes babies, toddlers, and small children, alas. But, thankfully, the grands live, minimum, 2000 miles away from me. And Iâll be just fine with them when theyâre older.
