Envy of unloved Primarchs' children
Sometimes I think that some of the Primarchs would be cold and distant towards their children. Some of the fathers would be afraid to get too close to them, some simply wouldn't understand how to interact with them, some would be terrified of showing their children their worst sid.es, and some simply wouldn't be able to love them at all. Alas, these things happen, even though every child deserves a caring and affectionate father.
Imagine how envious that child would be of their cousins, the children of their father's brothers.
They would be hugging Leman Russ, who is just as thrilled to see his nieces and nephews as his own kids. They would play in the Fenrisian snow, and then run off into the warm sanctuary of the Space Wolves' Primarch, where a feast filled with laughter and merriment awaits. And Uncle Leman, pressing a finger to his lips, would let them try a sip of mjod.
They would joyfully play musical instruments and practice archery with Fulgrim, who adores teaching them, is always delighted by their company, and might sometimes even let them fly alongside him to Terra.
They would fall asleep in Vulkan's warm arms alongside his many children, he makes absolutely no distinction between his own kids and others. His deep, velvety voice singing Nocturnean lullabies would carry them off to sleep in an instant!
And then comes the humiliating flight home to cold, grey walls, to their father, who doesn't even look at his children, as if he doesn't even remember they exist.
Perturabo’s sons, piercing their father with the very same steely gaze they learned from him, while he looks back at them with apathy and indifference, as if doing them a favor by tearing himself away from his blueprints. Dorn gave them more attention in a single hour than their father had in their entire lives.
Angron’s daughter, hoping to hone her combat skills enough so that her father might finally look at her with pride. She has no idea how the Red Angel’s heart bleeds when, once again, he forbids himself from pulling his adored little creature into a tight embrace. He will want to howl in agony when he learns that very soon she will voluntarily undergo surgery for the implantation of the Butcher's Nails. Jaghatai Khan was absolutely delighted by the devastating precision and power with which she moves.
Sanguinius’s twins, who so desperately crave tenderness and attention from their father, trying to excel in absolutely everything they can. They have no idea how ashamed Sanguinius is of their beautiful crimson eyes, their sharp fangs, and most importantly, their repulsive wings, which have only just begun to sprout white soft feathers. Hideous freaks; insiult to the Emperor himself. Sanguinius should have strangle them in the cradle.
