Prince Hector! What’s your favorite memory with your parents?
Well, my childhood was perhaps not as people imagine it. By the time I had scarcely completed my first year, my brother Deiphobos was born, and soon after him Polites. From an early age, I learned to share my parents' attention and as I grew older, much of it became my duty to look after my younger siblings.
Yet, I always cherished the moments I was granted with my parents. My mother would always find time for me. When I could not sleep, she would read to me, tell me stories, and hold me until I found rest. She often warmed milk and sweetened it with honey; that was my favorite comfort as a child.
My father…had little time to spare. He sent tutors to teach me all that was expected of me. Still, there were things he gave me himself, he taught me to read the stars and their stories, and to understand and value the horses of our land. For that, I am grateful. In truth, I spent more time with my mother than with my father. Yet the brightest and most joyful memories were made among my siblings where laughter was never in short supply.☺️
Found this from 25 years ago and thought some people here would enjoy it

Still clutching each other’s hands, we touched our faces cheek to cheek, and stood so close a moment. I kissed the tracery of a tear across his cheekbone. And then we let each other go.

I really want to see how Priamos will appear in this, he has like 70 children and he's a king so I'm curious about how you'll modernise him
Well, because most of us are college students, we only have access to so many resources and so many actors, so we’ve trimmed the on-screen cast down to fourteen characters (Still a whole lot! Just not as many as the hundreds or possibly thousands of named characters in the Iliad). Priam/Priamos will still be appearing, just maybe not in the way you expect.
it was thought to be scientifically proven that men generally don’t listen to what women say, but as it turns out Cassandra, daughter of Priamos, was a statistical outlier and should not have been taken up in this research
Loose feathers of a bird thought:
A Coalition of Lions begins with Goewin comparing herself to a prey animal fleeing her aunt. She arrives in Aksum and soon fears the ways she may be similar to Morgause, especially in relation to Telemakos (her future sunbird). And he sees what she’s doing, too - “You can keep a thing without tying it up. You know.”
and there’s Priamos’s traumatic history of being chained with his brother as punishment, his current effective imprisonment, THE MONKEY SCENE, there’s all the roles and agreements and situations that confine Goewin, there’s the way Medraut sees Debra Damo as a place to escape and there’s the grief that binds him, there’s Turunesh’s doves and parrots, there’s Wazeb’s promise not to chain his lions…
but caged birds are, above all, something that belongs to Morgause. So to end with the freedom of the migrating swifts, which are also a promise of love and connection (a tie! a bond!) between Goewin and Priamos, is just beautiful. The birds are free, now. And some of them are so far from home, but they’re free.
