A delightful and sweet salad that combines the salty crunch of pretzels with a layer of creamy and fruity goodness. Perfect for potlucks and family gatherings!
Ingredients: 2 cups crushed pretzels. 3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted. 3 tablespoons granulated sugar. 1 6 oz package strawberry flavored gelatin. 2 cups boiling water. 1 16 oz package frozen sliced strawberries, thawed. 1 8 oz package cream cheese, softened. 1 cup granulated sugar. 2 cups whipped topping e.g., Cool Whip. 1 cup chopped fresh strawberries.
Instructions: Preheat your oven to 350F 175C. In a mixing bowl, combine the crushed pretzels, melted butter, and 3 tablespoons of sugar. Mix well. Press this pretzel mixture into the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish. Bake for 10 minutes, then allow it to cool completely. In another bowl, dissolve the strawberry gelatin in 2 cups of boiling water. Stir until fully dissolved. Add the thawed sliced strawberries and mix well. Let it cool to room temperature. In a separate mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and 1 cup of granulated sugar until smooth. Fold in the whipped topping into the cream cheese mixture. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the cooled pretzel crust. Pour the strawberry gelatin mixture over the cream cheese layer. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until set. Before serving, garnish with chopped fresh strawberries. Enjoy your delicious Strawberry-Pretzel Jello Salad!
