Once again I am asking the bare minimum:
If you disagree with me that The Murderbot Diaries is doing slavery apologism, show me the passages where we are expected to fear and hate slave owners, and cheer on the slaves who hurt or kill them in their fight for freedom.
If I'm so wrong about this series and how this author is framing slavery and slave owners, then just show me the quotes.
If I'm wrong, it should be literally effortless on your part.
for the ask game dandelion crayon, cargo shorts, and maybeee a little bit of teeth 😁💕
I adore you I adore you I adore you
Again, this concept literally could not get any simpler. The only reason any of you think that the preservation ox team are good people is that the series is pro-slavery propaganda. That's literally why you think they are good people. That is why Martha Wells frames the slave owners as good people. Because it is slavery apologism. And it is literally working on you.
You all want to claim that this is not slavery apologism, but you cannot even bear to admit that these people are, factually, objectively, slave owners, and that they purposefully went out of their way to become slave owners, and have continued to exploit their slave for the entire series now without ever receiving any pushback or punishment. They literally continue to profit from enslaving Murderbot to this fucking day despite this series running for nine goddamn years now.
If Martha Wells were not a white supremacist, and were not writing slavery apologism, The preservation ox team either would not be slave owners, or they would be dead, or otherwise punished by the narrative for being slave owners.
It is physically impossible for anyone who actually thinks slavery is wrong to write all systems red, let alone every single goddamn thing that comes after it which further doubles down on wubifying slave owners and demonizing slaves as disposable vicious monsters.
Literally, the best that Martha Wells stands can hope to do in defense of the murderbot Diaries is pretend they magically don't know how to read all of a sudden, So them literally pretending that they did not read the very explicit statements in the books multiple times that Mensah is Murderbot's slave owner? Pretending that that never happened is the literal best defense they can think of.
Bots who are “full citizens” still have to have a human or augmented human guardian appointed, usually their employer,
-
“You’d be my guardian,” I said. “Yes.” She was glad I understood. “There are so many education opportunities. You can do anything you want.” Guardian was a nicer word than owner.
-
I told it I was a free bot, trying to get back to its human guardian. (The “free bot” thing is deceptive. Bots are considered citizens in some non-corporate political entities like Preservation, but they still have appointed human guardians.
-
Amena looked appalled. “My mother doesn’t own you.”
“Yes, she does.”
They are literally so desperate to defend the slavery apologism without actually providing any proof to actually refute it, that they will pretend not to understand the basic core premise of the series, which is that Murderbot goes on cute little adventures to protect its slave owners or their interests.
And it's not like the series is confusing, it's not written in academic language, it's not written in flowery language, the pros is so fucking basic and simple that probably most of the people in the fandom are under the impression that it's literally designed for middle schoolers.
It's not complicated. When it has something to say it spells it out to you to your fucking face.
But racist stans Who know that they can't actually provide evidence from this text to prove that it's not racist, are just so desperate to defend it anyways that they will literally pretend they don't know how to read even such a simple fucking series as this, that explicitly spells out to you multiple times over and over again that guardian and client are literally the same thing as an owner but "nicer" words for it.

By the way, the entire Preservation Aux team is literally joking and laughing amongst themselves while Bharadwaj and Murderbot are literally bleeding to death right in front of them, by the way.
And not even in a hysterical way in reaction to the bleeding to death, they're just acting completely casual, and the entire story does not want us to be taking the scene seriously at all, because if we were meant to be taking it seriously, we would actually get a basic description of what the injuries are and how much pain murder bot is in and literally anything besides what we actually got, which is just trying to convince us that the slave owners are adorable and quirky and funny and relatable, and murderbot already adored them and worshiped the ground they walked on before the story even began, so we shouldn't be upset with them in any way for literally going out of their way to become slave owners on purpose.
The fact that not one single person ever trying to claim that the preservation ox team immediately starts treating murderbot like an equal, have never been able to provide a single quote even implying that is literally proof of everything that I say. They don't have any quotes, because there are no quotes, because that doesn't actually happen. It's literally just vibes. These people treat murderbot exactly like the slave it is, They treat it so fucking horrifically that it would be a horror story if it weren't slavery apologism where the white woman from Texas literally tells you to think that all of this is cute and positive and totally normal and so normal you shouldn't even think twice about it let alone remember that it happened.
As I keep saying. Literally nobody that actually sees slavery as horrific would ever be able to write All Systems Red.
The things these people do to murderbot before the story is even halfway through is just nightmarish, but Martha Wells gloss is over all of it or portrays it as positive, and people refuse to read critically, so 99% of these people literally have no idea what the fuck even happens in the goddamn first half of the story, let alone how it actually ends.
Martha Wells is literally training her audience into accepting slavery apologism and anti-intellectualism. And it's working.
And even when people are trying to argue that it's not, they literally still cannot ever provide any evidence of their claims that "well, they're nice slave owners!" A, there's literally no such thing as a nice slave owner, and b, they literally treated horrifically, so not even on a surface level are they nice. Martha Wells just does not want you to notice or remember the horrific levels of abuse they put murderbot through in book 1 alone, not even getting into anything else they do to it throughout the rest of the series.
And if you think I'm wrong about this, then show me the quotes. Reread the book.
Find me all of those passages where immediately after it saves Bharadwaj and Volescu they immediately start treating it like an equal.
Show me where they apologize for not realizing it was a person, nd aapologize for enslaving it, And do everything they can to make up for the fact that they literally fucking rented out this person as a slave, and immediately start treating it like an equal and stop treating it literally like the slave they went solar systems out of their way to rent out.
In 5 years or so when the rest of the world catches up with this shit, you are all going to look extremely fucking embarrasingly racist trying to argue that this series isn't just House Elves 2k17.
If you think that I am wrong about there being slavery apologism in this series, then literally show me the quotes from book one where they immediately start treating murderbot like an equal. Show them to me. How they immediately instantaneously start treating murderbot like an equal once "realize it's a person".
And again, we've seen preservation. We're told robots there are treated as equals. So ask yourself, if they thought murder bought was "just" a robot, why were they still literally treating it like a slave the entire time? I thought Preservation treated robots as equals and wasn't literally also enslaving them?
Or did you forget that part, too? If you even noticed to begin with.
"after murderbot saves their lives and they realize it's a person, the preservation aux team immediately starts treating it like an equal!"
That literally, objectively *does not happen*, that is literally just a fucking lie that Martha Wells is selling to you through vibes alone, and you would know this if you would actually engage critical thinking skills and actually take the time to stop and think and actually read the literal words that are actually on the page instead of going along with the pro-slavery vibes Martha Wells is feeding you.
literally. If you think that that statement that they immediately started treating murder bot like an equal is true, then you should be perfectly happy to pick up your copy of all systems read right now and reread it using active reading and actually reading the actual words that are actually literally on the page, and actually looking at those and what they literally objectively tell you is actually happening, instead of just mindlessly going along with the cutesy vibes that Martha Wells is using to present everything going on in this book as cutesy and wholesome and positive,
Right?
Right? You guys are all actually happy to pick up the copy of the book you're all claiming to love so much to actually reread it with critical thinking skills, to oh so easily prove your interpretation correct, right?
Right?
You're willing to actually pick up the book and look at what it literally says is happening? Because you know you will be proven correct?
Right?
Right?
Because you know you're right, don't you? So you should have literally nothing to fear in simply rereading the book using active reading, right?
Because if you're right and I'm wrong about the books being slavery apologism, then surely it would be effortless to prove me wrong by simply rereading the book again yourself using critical thinking skills and active reading, right?
(This isn't even getting into the quote They realize it's a person quote thing as though they literally don't live on a self-styled Utopia where " robots are treated as equals " So what happened to them seeing robots as equals? When they were claiming to have seen murderbot only as a robot? I thought robots were equals where they come from? So why would they treat murder like the slave they literally rented it out as? Oh wow. Maybe because... They literally also use robots as slave labor and Martha Wells wants us to be okay with this.)
