so so so so I just picked up my SXSG pre-order copy and read through the entire journal. they surprisingly share quite a bit about Gerald's family. Spoilers under cut.
So there's a photo right at the beginning of Gerald and his sons at their graduation. I can only assume they are Maria and Eggman’s parents, the man with the blond hair and beard likely being hers, and the balding one Ivo's.
He mentions a couple times that he's under a lot of pressure from his son on the subject of Maria's health, which likely suggests that they weren't on great terms, even before her untimely death.
Oh, and an even bigger bombshell is that they confirmed that Maria has a younger sister!
I am so curious as to whether or not we're ever gonna see any of these characters in any other game or tie in media. This is the kind of lorebuilding stuff I adore.
