haii honies ‧₊˚☆♡ my name is shadai murrey, i’m a 27 year old trans woman from lancaster, pennsylvania. i’ve decided to start raising funds for bottom surgery and would love to ask for help from my community! this feels really surreal to write, it’s something i’ve anticipated for years and it’s finally my time ~ i feel equal parts excited and anxious but i now feel ready, i’ve been working towards this for a while now. the surgery is planned to happen in oct/nov, and with the current political climate, it really feels like now is the time to go for the goal.

i am looking for help with gaining funds in order to cover expenses during the 8 weeks i’ll need off to recover. this includes necessities such as bills, groceries, supplies i’ll need while heal, as well as laser hair removal prior to surgery to reduce chance of complication.

i am truly grateful for any amount you can contribute, and i want to express my sincere appreciation for your support. even if you are unable to donate, sharing my campaign with others would mean the world to me.

I’ve seen this used widely in a well-meaning but reflexive way on ao3 to describe characters who have not have top or bottom surgery. I know I’ve used it myself before, for lack of an alternative.

but “pre-op” assumes there needs to be an “op.”

if the character is actually planning to get surgery, that’s great! but if you’re talking about a trans man with breasts who lives his life that way happily, he’s not “pre” anything. he’s exactly where he wants to be and comfortable that way.

and you can have exactly zero surgeries and no hormone therapy and still be trans or non-binary.
