this was a fun exercise in what the fuck am i doing (also Leyendecker creepin' on in)

Decided to translate some 10cm songs because they generally sing in full sentences at a meandering sort of pace and they also articulate clearly. I've included a little vocabulary list at the bottom so that I can keep track of what words to make flashcards for.

My Feels and Vocab List

This is my first time translating lyrics, and man, is it ever awkward! I want to be as literal as possible, but that gets clunky really quickly. I hope this is okay?

The very first line bothers me, which is an awful place to realize that you are stuck. I'm not 100% sure what 싶었지 is related to in this case. Does 않다 modify 싶다? Or is it a standalone phrase? Please feel free to send me a message if you can explain how to parse this. No, really. Please do.

Also, "사랑 때문에 죽고 사는 일" was written as "사람 때문에 죽고 사는 일" when I cross-checked my lyrics with another site, but I listened to that part of the song about a bajillion times over and I'm fairly certain that he says love and not people. Are there official lyrics lying around anywhere?
