What nulls our commitment?
If you have not heard about Sukumar Ray let me introduce him to you. A great scholar , one of the best experimenter on printing technology , father of nonsense poem in Bengali and an enthusiast of almost all sorts of literary divisions . Writing 10,000 words should be less to introduce this person who lived only for 36 years to enrich Bengal and India and gave a great gift to us , his son , Satyajit Ray.
Anyhow am not here to tell about him simply because explaining him would be beyond my reach. One of his poems which I like the most is about some boys who says about what they can do , what they can achieve and they frequently use one conjunction each and that depicts their nature of the readers . One of them uses the word “ But” like many of us.
Think about how many times we say “ i want to travel but ...... “ or “ I should save for the future but .........” and just think for a moment while you listen anyone is connecting two statements with “ but” which sentence becomes important to you? Do you think if an overweight foodie like me is saying “ i want to reduce my weight but can’t control fast-food” . Do you think losing weight is my priority or eating fast-food ?
Well , let’s create a quotation on these. “ Anything before ”but” is a goat and after but is a tiger” and eventually who eats whom that we all know.
Can you leave the word “ But” ? You can I know . Only we need a replacement .
