The creative process is the procedure for how to go about developing creative products. There are so many tools that I could have talked about, but it didn’t personally make sense for me to touch on all of them right now. I am in a time in my life where I have to choose what matters. It’s not that a lot of these tools don’t matter, but more so that I found other parts of this portfolio, such as the personal development and branding work to be much more beneficial at this point in time for me to focus my time on.
I could have mentioned all of the heuristics we have mentioned in class: 100 questions, brainstorming, C4, problem statement, word dance, 6 hats, assumption listing, bug list, journey map, empathy map, observation, empathy conversation, fractionation, idea box, random entry, reverse brainstorm, provocation, forced connection, prototyping, VOJ/GAIL, Immersion, Stimuli, and SCAMPER.
I needed to find what works best for myself and do those things. For that reason, I focused this section on: creatives anonymous, empathy, journey map, 6 hats, assumption listing, 100 questions, intentionality + questioning and not a stick. I personally don’t struggle to get out of the area familiarity when it comes to ideating so I didn’t feel like exploring some of them more than I already explored them for 252, but I do go into more heuristics further down.
