Polestar 1 PRODUCTION ⚡️ ______________________________________ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ [8/29/19] Finally after loads of waiting for the brand new state of the art Polestar factory to be built. Volvo’s electric performance arm has official started production of their first model, the Polestar 1! Polestar is also officially its own brand now and not a direct division of Volvo like AMG is to Mercedes and M is to BMW. NOW, Polestar is more like Lexus, Infiniti and Genesis as a stand alone brand. Their brand new facility in China will also soon produce the Polestar 2 EV that will battle the Tesla Model 3. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🏁 @Allcarnews Spec sheet: Powering the Polestar 1 is a unique powertrain pairing a 2.0L Turbo and Supercharged Inline 4 powering the front wheels along with two rear electric motors for a total of 591HP and 738 lb-ft of torque….but those are the European numbers..the US gets 626HP thanks to the exclusion of the EU Particulate filter! The rear EV motors are powered by a 34kWh battery and allows for 93miles of EV only driving. 0-60 times are around 3.8sec too.🏁 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The Polestar 1 is a tech filled beast which easily can be seen from its powertrain, but there is loads more interesting stuff going on with this car. The chassis of the car is very unique made up of both carbon fiber and aluminum with a unique “dragonfly” rear sub section made from carbon for added stiffness and rigidity. It also gets special Ohlins dampers, Pirelli P Zero rubber and massive staggered 22in wheels along with a torque vectoring rear diff. The interior is very Volvo but bathed in carbon fiber, a crystal shift knob, special leather and other unique gold colored touches.
