a modern au where Laurent is a ghost basically influencing/haunting Damen to go rescue his uncle's newest victim, Nicaise. Like that movie dragonfly, or even the sixth sense: Laurent has a ghostly obligation to keep Nicaise from falling to the same fate, and he can't move on until Damen helps save him. So Damen sees typical haunting things, invisible Laurent smashing things or knocking things over when he's angry and frustrated, and then eventually he becomes somewhat visible to Damen after they start to trust each other. Could have romance, if Damen wants to fall in love with a ghost, but mostly I just want Laurent being forced to trust someone because he literally cannot rescue Nicaise without corporeal help.
