I got a problem and it drains my soul-
don't tell, nobody knows.
I used to feel alright, but now I'm uptight.

Arkells & Postelles - Concert in Toledo, Oh. 1/12/13
When 2013 came about, I was in NYC watching the ball drop from the ABC studios. In that magic moment I decided that 2013 would be a year I dedicated to something I love, so what better then concerts? The first of the year was a small (12 people in the audience to be exact) concert in Toledo. The Arkells were headlining with The Postelles, and The Ambassadors opening for them. The Ambassadors are a good band if you like the more mellow, slow indie rock music. They're performance was good and enticing but they definitely weren't "headliner" material within this set of bands. I'd suggest listening to Unconsolable by them to get you warmed up. The Postelles are such a fun band, their music is more upbeat than the Ambassadors with an almost SoCal feel to them, despite emerging from the New York music scene. My favorite song from them is White Night and personally I prefer their first self-titled album more then their second, ...And It Shook Me but both are still lovely.
Now for the main event! Coming to the US to try and create a fan base that reaches further than their Canadian roots, is the Arkells. With their newest album Michigan Left blowing my mind, and even the people behind the recent South by Southwest music festival, I am positive they will be around for a while. Because the concert in Toledo was so small, it was an amazing opportunity to see up close and personal how truly talented this group of men are. What was even nicer than their music was them as actual people. They came out after to meet the people who had come and signed autographs, they were phenomenal! And ever since I have loved and promoted them relentlessly. As for a suggestion, literally anything off the Michigan Left album is amazing, and also the song John Lennon from their first album is great.
I attached an acoustic cover of their song Michigan Left because I think it totally showcases how they are live!
That's all for today! Enjoy!
