Postcards from the Backyard: Did y’all know bay leaves grow on trees? Did you know those trees bloom? Now ya do! This is one of the plants we brought with us when we bought our home 13 years ago. Our bay tree originally resided in a small pot on the balcony of our downtown apartment and it was one of several plants we brought with us along with a rosemary plant that still lives by the walkway next to our house. When we planted it, the bay was about two feet tall. Now, we can sit and see it from our third floor windows. And just look at the captivating little yellow blooms it produces! Amazing. The bees love the blooms as do the hummingbird family from the willows across the alley and, apparently, a migrating pair of goldfinches that came to visit and inspect the blooms this morning. Make sure you swipe through the photos to see them against the pink of our cherry tree. What a gorgeous time of year in our little urban jungle of a garden.💖💖 . . . #lifewiththeshibaguyz #postcardsfromthebackyard #yellowflowers #baytree #bayleaves #baytreeflowers #ediblegarden #urbangarden #smallspacegardening #seattle #westseattle #pnwspring #seattlespring #spring #springflowers (at Seattle, Washington) https://www.instagram.com/p/B_0m3OAp4jR/?igshid=p2k8woulzy78
