#possession?

ok so first you establish Character A and make me want to understand them

next you establish Character B and make me want to understand them (second part optional; Character B being introduced with no explanation works well too)

now have Character A get possessed by Character B

I don't care about the specifics just do it

now let Character A communicate with Character B while possessed but remain unable to communicate directly with anyone else aside from sparse moments of regained control

and most importantly, for maximum brainrot

DO NOT LET ANY OTHER CHARACTERS KNOW.

at least not at first

they can find out later through angst moments but not right away at least not in a way lets Character B know that the other character(s) know(s) the truth

so like hidden identities give me brainrot and this kind is the best, now go off and show me some

my favorite version of this is where Character A like a tag-along ghost buddy to their own body, which is inhabited by Character B, and no one aside from any ghosts in the story know and Character A simultaneously wants people to know and save them but also is terrified of what Character B might try if B realized A was still there and trying to get help (i have been obsessed with a Hat in Time au I made that involves this and it's extremely angsty)

but another awesome version is a role reversal where Character B did not ask for this and has no autonomy in the shared body and is just a second internal monologue (aka why I like chara narrator theory and what can be done for it)

for bonus points Character B is piloting the body because Character A is just. out of commission. for whatever reason and Character B might not actually realize they're possessing someone? or that this is bad? and it all comes to a head where they separate and both are traumatized forevermore yay!
