South Africans speak English, but that doesn’t mean you’ll always understand us. We have 4 distinct forms of saying now 🙈
1) Right Now - “Right Now”. More urgent than now with a higher probability of something actually happening.
2) Now - “Eventually, Maybe” Basically almost not quite, absolutely now… maybe.
3) Now Now - “Shortly” Which can be used both in future- and immediate past-tense. It’s more immediate than Now, but still may never happen.
