Yesterday, I sat at @bluestripescacao trying to grasp my thoughts about everything that happened during Fashion Week. #NewYorkFashionWeek. 7 days of exclusive runway shows where designers show their collections and where influencers, journalists, editors, and individuals from the fashion industry reunite. This week was a dream. A tiring dream to be honest, but all worth it. I attended 5 shows of different kind; I saw it all. @ifg_nyc Indonesian creators portraing #HijabFashion, African clothing and Arabesque inspiration garments, followed by @hktdcfashionhk that had the most epic puffer coats & designs. Then I went on to a German show @grubenhelden honoring its birthplace by using coal miners as models. The show had the coolest setting: drilling noises and a boarding pass as a ticket. I then got interviewed by German newspapers @bild and @zdfheute. Next up, was @harlienz, a Qatari designer who created the most gorgeous draperie, silk, flowy, breezy dresses. Some of the models even walked barefoot! My last show was last night and @afffair.fff was all about sequins, glitters, sexy-lingerie style, with the finest touch of lace & skirts! These 7 days were eye-opening for me trying to break into fashion journalism. I was taking notes during shows and marked down words that came through my mind as I was watching the models walk by. Apart from the shows, I am thankful to have met THE MOST wonderful people. Shoutouts to everybody who made this week so special, you know who you are!
