“I think as a process, maybe around 2014-2015, around that time… it’s funny because I feel like where I was then, is where I am now, but I was there for One Direction. I felt accomplished, I felt really understood in my role within the band, I was really confident in everything I was doing for the band. So when we weren’t a band anymore, I had to work out all of those things on my own. So I think I probably was in a really confident place within the band, and I had to re-find my confidence. But I wouldn’t say it was really until releasing this record and touring this record and watching this album come to life, that I actually genuinely believed that I deserve to do this. And also my fans deserve this more importantly. The level of support that I’ve had now for a long time, the least I could do is come here and play a good show.”

Wow, I recorded a lot! A lot of things. There were so many that I can't say for sure now how many songs exactly were recorded for this album, but in the end we got 14 tracks, I think you can tell there is at least one ballad on the album. It is really what I wanted it to be. Maybe that's why it took awhile to happen.
