In lieu of Anthrocon's new fursuit parade restrictions, I thought I'd give my two cents:

Let people poodle.

Ok, for the non-furries reading this: poodling is when you wear a fursuit in a way that shows skin (for example, wearing a fursuit head with shorts and a t-shirt). It's called "poodling" because you kinda look like a shaved poodle, with only some parts of yourself being covered in fur.

Yes, I've done enough research on furry history to know that fursuiting has its roots in professional mascot performance. The thing is, fursuiting itself never actually was a professional mascot performance. It's always been a hobby. You're not getting paid to wear this elaborate costume of your OC, so there's no need to take it so seriously. If you need to stay cool in the summer heat, do so! If you have sensory or temperature regulation issues and still want to look like a cute animal, then do it in a way that makes you feel comfortable. And if you want to show off your sick ass outfit, go for it!
