I like TADC. It’s never wowed me, but I have liked what I’ve seen, and Kinger has had some beautiful moments. The ending sucks. It’s predictable and formulaic, but not in a good way. I feel like the characters weren’t explored enough. The lore itself was barely touched upon. For example, how did they get scanned into the circus? Is the tech just sitting around ready to use?

Caine coming back at all is a choice. Him coming back for no reason is ass.

What’s the story behind Ribbit and Kaufmo? Maybe the full movie has those moments, though according to those who have seen the full thing, they aren’t there.

And Jax…

I don’t like him. I don’t hate him, though he has some moments that are genuinely horrifying and abusive. He’s such a fucking archetype. There is nothing interesting or new about him. Still, his ending wasn’t great. His character remains pretty stagnant so him abstracting isn’t the painful end of a degraded arc or the sadness from positive character development that ultimately led to his demise. His abstraction happens off screen without ceremony, which is insane for the deuteragonist. Any member of the cast abstracting should be a huge moment.

Yes, there’s the I have no mouth reference but it doesn’t make it better. Ted helps his fellow prisoners die to free themselves of AM and sacrifices his chance to escape. Jax just dies.

I don’t care if they’re trapped in the circus forever or that they’re just scans but the final episode is so cookie-cutter. Cookie cutter can work! It’s just lacking here. Do we address Jax’s insane issues? Why did he strangle Pomni? That was scary as hell!

I cannot believe Glitch was bragging about dumping this in theaters. Ignoring how rude it is to show the finale weeks early to people with the privilege to have access to theaters that will show it and the funds to watch, but it’s not worth the money.

Also, fuck Glitch for how they handled the theater rollout. Falsely accusing South Korea of being a leak risk and implying that the other theaters they ghosted had censorship issues is completely unprofessional.
