Akito was the first one to catch feelings for all and he felt extremely guilty because not only does he like his friend, An, who is in a relationship, he also likes her girlfriend, Kohane. Not to mention, he likes Toya and there's no chance he likes men himself, right? [Wrong]

An and Kohane both felt extremely guilty for developing feelings for Akito and Toya

It was just a huge mess all around but they worked it out and somehow, they're doing okay without ever learning what polyamory is. They're all dating but they don't know what the term for dating multiple people is.

In school and in public, due to society being extremely homophobic, they simply don't disclose the same sex relationships or the multiple relationships they have going on. They used to pretend as if though they're just a VERY close friend group until they started getting pressured by their fans to "spit out the truth" about their relationships. So they made an agreement in secret which goes like this:

Akito/Kohane and Toya/An are the "couples". They're just gonna announce that Akito and Kohane are dating and that Toya and An are dating. They're technically not lying, they're just not giving the whole truth. Another part of their agreement would be that An tones down her affection with Akito and Kohane, Akito tones down his affection with Toya and An, etc. and they act super in love with their "public" partners. So Akito and Kohane act like the perfect couple meanwhile Toya and An do the same.

The only people to know about their polycule are Tsukasa, Saki and Shizuku. Ena found out herself later on and when she did, she laughed her ass off. Akito told her to shut the fuck up and that it wasn't funny, then Ena told him it is because there's literally a term for that and they just never even fucken looked it up.

She taught him the term polyamory and although he refuses to admit it, he can finally die in peace knowing that this is a natural thing.
