Now... What is a maid doing at Syntax? Often mistaken as the cleaning maid or janitor, she's actually a recruit!

Despite her warm and friendly demeanor with a smile, her background is not for the faint of heart...

Maid Araya, or just Araya, originated from a gacha shoot em up game loosely inspired on the anime, Akiba Maid War, now set in the fictional 2030 with entirely new cast of characters. The game has different chapters following different maid cafes' storyline. Among the many cafes, there are the "higher ranks", the crime lords that dominate Akihabara.

One of them was The Purrfect Lounge. A luxury maid cafe served by Victorian style catgirl maids. Actual catgirls. It's a long story.

Araya, formerly went by Maid Strawberry Milk, worked for The Purrfect Lounge since it opened in 2020. She was bred & bought for entertainment so her entire life was the cafe.

Unlike other playable maids who fought with weapons, Araya fights with her hands (and a bulletproof shield for protection). She was terrifying; able to tear limbs, decapitate & punch through bodies. Even before released as a playable, previous chapters often told of her violent crimes. She was the cafe's living weapon.

She used to held pride in her massacres. It gave her euphoria for protecting the cafe she loved & lived for. This changed when The Purrfect Lounge's treatment towards her worsened. She was feared & isolated by other catgirl maids & is only handled by the other maids higher ranked than her. Her image was told like a mythical tale, causing more maids to fear her. Those killings now made her felt empty.

Araya managed her humanity by secretly befriending other maids from different cafes. She yearned for an escape, of friendship & happiness... Many mistaken her sweetness being a persona but it's hard to believe it... kindness and care can somehow coexist with a raging anger of a thousand suns and a hunger for gore & glory.

Her game updated with a new chapter, focused on Araya as the protagonist. Bluntly titled, "The Downfall of The Purrfect Lounge". Syntax took advantage of this.

During their harvest mission, Miss Information took on as a maid to get close with Araya (with Fold hidden in her pocket). She was surprised how strangely sweet, tragic she is and developed a fondness for her. She noted her incredible fighting skill, heightened senses and... executions... would be beneficial to Syntax.

Since her Game World's destruction, she works for Syntax with much more enthusiasm. She's their greatest fighter (and was gifted gauntlets for better damage) and her warmness works well manipulating heros. Outside of missions, she loves taking care of new recruits and sometimes clean up the ship if she feels like it.

What's shocking is... she got TWO romantic partners out of this : Miss Information (the first she fell for, who inspired her to escape & wanting more in life) & Warrick (who supports her constantly, encouraging her gruesome side and adores watching her fight).

The two aren't dating each other but Warrick knows Miss Information as a excellent recruit who treats Araya well since the beginning. Miss Information sees this as an ego boost for dating Syntax's best & Warrick's partner.

Fold is... unfortunately the fourth wheel. Usually tagging along Miss Information and Araya.
