@holly-poly is a fandom/ship inclusive Tumblr fanwork exchange that you can sign up for! If you've never participate in these types of exchanges before, you sign up for a fanwork you'd like to receive and are assigned a fanwork to create in exchange.

@fourormore is a Tumblr that runs events focusing on relationships between four or more people. They are currently working on a 2026 bingo board!

#3 What's your favorite thing about writing CNM relationships

I adore exploring the depth of relationships and the different dynamics within them. It's still considered a very out-there relationship dynamic in the real world and I love shedding some light through fanfic on the realities of these dynamics!

#7 What are the love languages of your favorite poly pairing?

Nesta - acts of service, quality time

Cassian - physical touch, quality time

Azriel - acts of service

None of these three know how to accept words of affirmation even tho Cassian gives them out willingly. He's horrible at acts of service but he tries so hard. He's always out there trying to do things for them and fucking it up just a little bit, but the other will come in behind him and clean it up. Nesta and Azriel struggle with physical touch but they find a middle ground, even if it's just the side of a finger pressed against them. Though i will write these three with different love languages in different fics depending on where they are in their relationship and how much trauma they've worked through.

#13 Who is the "emotional glue" of your polycule? Who needs the most reassurance? Who's the wildcard?

I feel like Azriel simultaneously needs the most reassurance and acts as emotional glue between his volatile (affectionate) partners. He's a constant in their chaos, even if his constant is sadness. Cassian is pretty dependable, even if the things we can depend on him most for is putting his damn foot in his mouth. Nesta is the wildcard - she's still getting used to being fae and being loved for who she is, and being who she wants to be at all. There's a lot of processing for these three to do!

The emotional beat I find most satisfying is the logistics. There are so many different variations of ethical and consensual non monogamy relationships. How did this group find each other? Why did they choose the configuration they did? What do they have to negotiate? Is there jealousy? How do they develop trust?

There's so much that goes into these relationships, especially when it comes to romance and trust and I love exploring that. Thank you for asking!

#5 Favorite tropes in a poly fic?

This one was an easy one for me. My favorite trope is always hurt/comfort but I think it hits SO different in a poly relationship. Usually one person is the most hurt, but the other are also varying degrees of emotional/mental/physical hurt! How do they support each other through their thirds injury? Can they? Do they fall apart because the emotions are too much? How does their injured third find them when they're through their injury enough to be conscious of what's going on? IT'S JUST SO MUCH MORE COMPLICATED AND DELICIOUS!

WELL since you asked is nicely and specifically about pain, I did plan three different whump fics for this week...

Feytamsand where Tamlin completes suicide. In the aftermath, Rhys and Feyre have to deal with the guilt and blame that follows, especially in relation to their own bargain (finished posting for day 2!)

Nessriel where Cassian doesn't return from a battle he should have survived. Nesta and Azriel, who have never shared a mating bond, have to figure out how, or if, they move forward together (still a WIP but some written).

Band of Exiles where the humans die and Lucien loses them both, after losing a mating bond, and has to figure out what is next for himself, if anything (the least developed - still mostly an idea).

I was in a MOOD and came up with all 3 of these ideas on the same day.
