[EN] And so the holidays are over. They barely started, and already the finish line. The kids had their first day of school today — Tymon in first grade, Olek in his first year of high school. Lots of new beginnings for them.

The tourists are gone, and it’s quiet again. Thank God. I’d had enough of them. As if to prove my point, on yesterday’s walk I saw wild animals again. No more screaming lunatics in every possible corner of Mazury, so it’s safe once more to walk through the fields and along the edges of the forest. Nobody’s going to shove a smartphone in your face.

Autumn is coming.

[PL] No i wakacje się skończyły. Ledwo się zaczęły, a już finisz. Dzieciaki dziś na rozpoczęciach roku szkolnego. Tymon do pierwszej klasy, Olek do pierwszej w liceum. Dużo nowości dla nich.

Turyści wyjechali i znowu zrobiło się spokojnie. Dzięki Bogu. Miałem już ich dość. Jakby na potwierdzenie moich tez, na wczorajszym spacerze znowu widziałem dzikie zwierzęta. Nie ma już rozwrzeszczanych oszołomów w każdym możliwym zakątku Mazur, więc znowu można bezpiecznie chodzić po polach i obrzeżach lasów. Nikt nie będzie ci wchodził na głowę ze smartfonem.

[EN] I’m already carrying autumn in my heart, even though I’m not really an autumn person. Not even an autumn guy, if that’s even a word. Once again I have to take a flashlight for my evening walks. Soon I’ll be setting out at dusk. Unless I rearrange my life for a while and start making use of those early mornings, around five-something. But come on—easier said than done. I’m trying, slowly. Stepping down from my night-owl habits. It’s easy to say, “starting tomorrow, I’ll do this or that.” Harder to actually do it.

[EN] Moose. Mama moose and baby moose.

We see each other every day — from a distance. Sometimes they come close enough for a photo.

A meadow bathed in the golden light of the setting sun. Unfortunately — the sun was shining straight into the lens. Hence the heavy loss of contrast, internal reflections...

But that’s okay. I’ve got a keepsake from the encounter — and that’s what really matters. 🫎✨

Widujemy się codziennie — z daleka. Czasami są na tyle blisko, że uda się zrobić zdjęcie.

Łąka skąpana w promieniach zachodzącego słońca. Niestety — słońce wpadało prosto w obiektyw. Stąd mocno obniżony kontrast, odbicia wewnętrzne…
