Rapa Nui Island
On this island, also known as Easter Island, you can find the famous Moai, a series of volcanic stone heads, sculpted by the Polynesian culture that inhabited the island for thousands of years. The figures were sculpted approximately between the years 1200 and 1500, and were transported from stone quarries to various points on the island, where they can be seen today.
