sometimes I wonder what TV could do to really return relevant for anything other than news...
an average tv channel can be replaced by a streaming platform (state tv RAI and giant private tv Mediaset already have one), so I think the big thing TV should do is live transmissions, especially those where the public can partecipate. streaming platforms still haven't succeded at that. except with sports, but that's because the platforms are buying what once aired on TV. and gaming, if we count Twitch. maybe TV should copy Twitch and add a live chat, polls, etc. to shows, could you imagine. I do think live TV needs more interaction with the public. there's a show I watch sometimes called Propaganda Live that I think does this well. they monitor what people are saying about the episode on socials (mainly twitter sadly) and comment some posts at the end. it relies on socials however, I wonder if there's a way to do something similar without them...
I think I'm thinking about this because it's a little sad that the giant infrastructures that makes TV possible are becoming kinda useless, that radios have disappeared from homes and smartphones and that the TV could be next
