Voiceteam is a Discord-based podfic event that happens twice a year! They create a new discord server for each event. The main event is in May and lasts the whole month. And then there's a two-week spin-off around New Year's. Here's their Dreamwidth link for more info on the event: https://voiceteam.dreamwidth.org/

Sign-ups for the next May Voiceteam aren't open yet, but they should be in April if you're interested (I'll prob reblog the posts when sign-ups are open). It's a lot of fun and a lot of podficcers participate! We jokingly call it the Podfic Friendship Quest. I did it for the first time in May 2024 after only having made two podfics at the time, so beginners are more than welcome! They have a system of pairing newbies with a more experienced player as a guide if you so desire, but generally I've felt that everyone's willing to help.

A very-basic crash course in adding covers and metadata to MP3 files

Step 1: Have Mp3tag installed and open on your computer

Step 2: Go to File -> Change Directory

Step 3: Navigate to the file where your MP3s are located and click Select Folder (don't go into the folder - Mp3tag loads the contents of the whole folder for editing, so you need to select the folder itself, not the MP3s inside the folder)

Step 4: Select the file(s) that you want to edit from the list on the right

Step 5: Enter any metadata that you want to apply to those files in the fields on the left (if you're selecting multiple files, don't edit any fields that you don't want applied to ALL the selected files)

Step 6: Add a cover by right-clicking the album icon at the bottom left and selecting Add cover

Step 7: Navigate to the file where your cover image is located, select the image, and click Open

Step 8: Click the save icon in the upper left corner

Rinse and repeat for any and all MP3s you have hiding in the corners of your computer! And if you want to know what any of these other buttons do... don't ask me, because I don't know 😄

Ahhhhh thank you dear anon!  But honestly all credit here needs to go to @omglevixeren since she’s the author!  It’s You is actually one of my fave lil one-shots.  The raw feelings involved and that very last moment of recognition - it honestly made me choke up when recording.

The other one was... The AO3 Terms of Service 😂 (current version). They had an accessibility challenge; I couldn't help myself lol. Divided it into 6 sections, but it's over 30000 words total so that one's not gonna be posted for a couple weeks.

I may have inadvertently inspired a challenge 😂

or at the very least, I nearly accidentally fulfilled it back in Voiceteam Mystery Box...it's probably just coincidental...

Anyway, naturally I was very drawn to it and am getting the biggest multivoice I've led yet going for it 😉
