So this post is for those who have a harsh mercury-pluto. I just recently figured out I have this aspect in my own chart, walking around my whole life not even understanding why my mind is the way it was. And interestingly, it's bc in traditional tropical astrology, most people only follow traditional orbs which some astrologers only count aspects between 0°-5° or up to 10°. I've always used up to 10° orb when looking up my natal aspects, I felt that the 0°-5° is just too rigid of a rule but each astrologer has what works and what doesn't work for them. I got curious one day when doing a synastry chart with someone I had limited aspects with, I took a suggestion from Britney taylor the astrologer, she mentioned using orbs as wide as 15° for synastry and so I did that and discovered so much. I extended it to my natal chart as well, I found out this was one of my aspects, I think its within 11° and surprisingly it's the most accurate placement imo. It literally shocked me bc it explained so much. I wanna talk about it here for those who also share this aspect to help you understand what it means for you and how it plays out natally.

So what I noticed about this aspect:

Pluto is our unfiltered shadow qualities, our hidden sides, our control issues, our obsessions, our darker thoughts/interests. Pluto is deep, penetrating, relentless. It's such a powerful planet that it causes deaths and rebirths, it's constantly testing and pushing you to shed new skin.. it's not sunshine and rainbows unfortunately. Pluto itself can also talk about occult, taboo topics, such as death, crime, magic/spirituality, the kinda things that has multiple layers you have to break through to understand. When pluto makes a connection to mercury, the planet of the mind, mercury itself- since pluto forms a harsh aspect to mercury it begins operating on a lower frequency. You start to see the bad qualities of mercury showing up, it's like mercury and pluto become one, a mixture of each other. The anxiety, the ocd, the nit picking, the dark thoughts, mercurys vast intelligence, and plutos deep penetrative ways.. it's like a person with this aspect will want to get to the bottom of every single topic of their interest until theres nothing left to understand, and in that process it also changes them too. Which can lead to mental issues, instability, constant mental shifts that leave them unstable.

Through it all, a mercury-pluto person will often suffer from knowing too much. You have to truly understand mercury and everything it represents to understand this aspect, mercury is the planet of information, communication, adaptability/shape shifting, pop culture, it's your nervous system, brain, reasoning, processing speeds, local travel, our curiosities, our creative/restless side. A mercurial person NEEDS outlets for the mental energy, their brains are constantly working overdrive, so they need places to speak, create, express. Pluto here kind of makes that mode of expression a little inverted and destructive instead of positively. The individual becomes extremely paranoid at times, often tortured by their thoughts..that's a big one. Intrusive thoughts is another unfortunately side effect of this aspect. Yes you can say everyone experiences intrusive thoughts and paranoia but for someone with this aspect it's a constant theme through out their life.

For me I always hated that side of myself, I didn't know why I had those feelings until I found out this was my aspect..tbh I felt so much better knowing I wasn't simply just crazy and weird.

So yeah this is something those with this aspect will experience, pluto basically forces things into your mind and mercury is so freaking curious and restless that it NEEDS to get the truth at any cost sometimes even against your will..

For example this will be a weird topic but when I was younger around early 20s I was always curious about death and people dying, could be my 8th house mars also but, I remember some friend of mine telling me about gore and for a time in the early 2000s that was kind of thing there was websites about death/gore, I just wanted to know what happens at death and what it looked like and even tho it scared ts out of me I couldn't stop myself, my brain from seeking all the information possible until I got bored or understood it. I HATE gore and I refuse to look at anything like that now but I remember seeing a few videos, cringing and scaring myself, my brain just wouldn't let me walk away from that topic until I confronted my curiousity with my own eyes. I've def seen enough, but thats just to give you an idea of how mercury and pluto could show up as.

The curiosity of mercury and the intense obsession of pluto, it's not a good mix if you ask me. It also kinda of scars you mentally to have this aspect bc what you see and what you figure out becomes ingrained in your mind, it makes you extremely aware and hypervigilant.

Another thing about the knowing too much part, mercury is soo curious and information seeking, intuitive on the intellectual plane while pluto is soo soo obsessive and intuitive/psychic on the emotional plane, put those together and you get someone that can just kinda predict things, they cant resist themselves from seeking out the truth, even if they have to stalk, usually it's online stalking for me like finding someones fb, finding their family member somehow, finding their birth chart info, it's just something I feel like I NEED to know, esp if it's someone I'm interested in, which I hate bc I leave no room for any suprises once I do the research or the intuiting.. it feels like I experience things in my mind before getting to actually experience them in person, making everything seem less enjoyable or natural..I already pretty much thought it through. It's mostly a safety thing, that's where the paranoia comes into play, to soothe the paranoia, it's like you seek information to have that peace and predictability.

So those were the main themes of this aspect knowing too much, paranoia, intrusive thoughts. Let me know if you also have this aspect and how it plays out for you! It's way deeper than I even explained it here but I hope that gives you a good enough idea to understand the basics.

Fyi it may or may not be exactly the way it played out for me and that's okay, it's important to look at what else is aspecting your natal mercury and pluto. For me my mercury aspects my sun and my pluto aspects my ascendant so I feel like that turns this mercury-pluto into a more self aware theme.

I know I haven't been writing in a while, it really just depends on how I'm feeling, lately my mental health is not the best, it's been like this for like 2 years now so it's hard to be consistent but I miss tumblr! Hope this helped and hopefully you'll hear from me more soon. Thanks for reading

Pluto Squares and Lilith Conjunctions in Synastry

Heeeyyy.....can I say that I totally get why you're feeling this way? it's heavy because having his Lilith conjunct your sun, venus, neptune, and ascendant means you embody his hidden fantasy. Pluto wants total control of course and since it's his Pluto and his Lilith triggering your planets, he is surely feeling this just as hard as you are....if not harder. The catch is that Pluto people hate feeling out of control. His instinct will likely be to hide it, act completely unbothered or keep a distance to protect his ego and maintain the upper hand

I FEEL THIS ONE BECASUE SAME!!!! The fact that you can't make eye contact makes perfect sense I MEAN Pluto and Lilith energy is heavy and primal. Locking eyes feels way too vulnerable like you're both instantly exposing how deep the obsession actually goes😂😂it''s uncomfortable

So yes he definitely feels the magnetic pull but it scares him a bit because it threatens his sense of control. Just keep your guard up....a little. This kind of attraction is intoxicating but Pluto-Lilith combinations can easily turn manipulative or toxic if boundaries get crossed
