Cat Moms, Vets, Petblr, whoever knows about Cats, please help?
I need to know if this is normal, my kitty Delilah is about 13 now, she's a very rambunctious, happy kitty overall but we've noticed today that her nose is Wet and Pale; one side of her nose seems pinker than the other.
Her nose usually varies between wet and dry throughout the day depending on how much she's decided to drink (she always has water she just chooses to hide and not drink for a while, she's old so I think she just sleeps a lot).
I tried getting a few different angles but she doesn't sit still, at all.
Google has been overall unhelpful; it says basically everything from her being healthy, to her having anemia, respiratory issues, HPV??? or simply having allergies.
She's acting like her usual self, she doesn't seem to be sleeping any more or less than usual. She doesn't seem to have any problems breathing, she's purring as we speak and I haven't seen her sneezing or having any other issues. She doesn't have any issues eating nor have her habits changed, and I haven't noticed her avoiding water or drinking it more than usual. She's a very playful, affectionate kitty overall (occasionally temperamental), she's been climbing more recently and sitting on the sink to get pet, she jumps down on the floor just fine (even tho I have put something there for her to jump onto she just doesn't use it the way I'd hoped), she's still jumping around and running and acting like her normal self. I'm just worried that the runny-ish wet nose is an early warning sign and if anything I'd rather catch it early than late, I love her very much and consider her my familiar and my family; and she's been part of my boyfriend's family for 13 years.
If anyone has any idea of what could be wrong or if I'm just being a hypochondriac that would be really appreciated, I worry about her due to her old age and really don't want to lose her if there's any way to keep her around. She's got too much fire in her spirit for me to let it go out over allergies, ya know?
Please consider reblogging this even if you don't know so it can it spread to people who might, I'm kinda at a loss since again, google has been entirely unhelpful. I'm gonna see if any local vets can help me over the phone but I have no idea if that'll help, any help from anyone would be highly appreciated.
