Heres the ironic part despite all of Poppy's plan to stop Playtime Co. for good, Eddie Ritteman has him state he has "friends in Tokyo" implying that the experiments are continuing elsewhere in the world, and the destruction of the main factory didn't do anything to stop it. Though I know that's for prob. for numerous sequels...for an infinite franchise...but who knows..
I was almost Gone in D&D twice in one session xD
In my game last night and there were a total of FIVE nat 20s. And four of them were on advantage attack rolls (so DOUBLE nat 20s - DM gave the two of us that rolled them a d6 as a bonus inspiration) and then I got a NAT 20 on the first ever death saving throw of the campaign.
I popped up with my 1HP from the NAT 20 save, immediately went down again to be helped up by the Paladin and then managed to, with disadvantage because the thing had gone invisible hit the creature we were fighting point for point for it's remaining 11HP. I have never felt so much raw joy. This thing had been wiping the floor with us in the initial rounds. My squishy warlock-self basically only survived as long as she did by using Disappearing Step-Misty Step to go invisible and avoid like 80% of the early attacks.
This was our first experience with a creature that had Legendary Actions/Reactions and Lair Actions, it was stressful but fun.
We were 3PCs, level 7, and technically both the Paladin and Artificer could heal BUT the Artificer had had to remake the character on D&D beyond over a password issue and hadn't redone all her spells despite us all checking last session that we were all prepped for the combat.
So, a big face plant. But, we survived!
We went into combat with: my lock's pact of the chain re-flavoured Hyena to look like a farm dog, and the Artificers tiny mechanical bird as well as her giant mechanical man who usually acts as a tank along side the Paladin, all three went down pretty quickly.
We have leveled up and I have tweaked some things as allowed by RAW (swapped a spell and an Eldritch Invocation.)
Here are the very first Player Characters of the very first Inner Circle! The first version was played in D&D 5e, set during the 1920s!
In order from top to bottom, left to right: Lazzaro, Lorenzo, Vincent, and Maika! The last guy is Giuseppe, a Player Character before that player turned into my Co-GM!
Art I did for my players! They’re all of my player characters for our Curse of Strahd campaign.
Ephraim - avarial bladesinger wizard, architect of Castle Ravenloft and (former?) lover of Strahd
Rhys - Tiefling divination wizard, theif whose family was killed by Rahadin
Fenrik - dusk elf werewolf barbarian paladin, has a vendetta against Rahadin(obviously)
Drusil - astral elf vampire spawn paladin, broke his oath to serve Strahd

Current WIP: Claudia Egot, my friend Chelsea's DnD character. A teeny Paladin Spell-Breaker, former Warlock, and possible Eldritch doppelganger. She's not sure. Time will tell.
I've been having a real time with making the accents on her belt and the trim of her tunic. I feel like the leaves/vines look enough like embroidery but the flowers are very hard. Maybe I'll just have flowers on the right side? For aesthetics and laziness.
Also, figuring out what my style is developing to be? Harder. I don't hate this face, but I'm also not crazy about the pseudo-Disney eyes. I suppose I should just be grateful that I managed to make them symmetrical.
So I was playing the @scapegoated-if update and having a fabulous time when:
Probably not a reference, but I'm a simp and had to choose it anyway.
