Low-key want to start sharing some of my favorite interactions with the kiddos that visit for field trips to the planetarium I work at.
Today was a bunch of first graders. One asked me, "Is it true that the sun is going to explode?" (Which is honestly a question I get often and I acknowledge I am probably the root cause of existential awakening for many children because of this question. 🫠)
And then another asked, "Why do you talk like that?" (Which was like.... damn my dude now I'm gonna have another thing to be anxious about??? 😭)
It's so funny to me that planetariums simulate light pollution. Like, I understand the educational value. But it's so amusing that people go to the building where you can easily access a perfect night sky, and what does the operator do? They fuck it up on purpose. Just to teach you a lesson.
