I’m doing insane amounts of volunteer work for something rn. It’s great and I’m really fond of the team I’m part of and proud of what we’re doing. But also it is slowly killing me and all of them.
Anyway. I’ve been thinking A Lot about fwb vladdy/okamoto sex that isn’t like. Toxically about bo bichette. The sex is about them being friends. But rather than haunting the narrative, Bo is just metaphorically haunting vladdy specifically. Hm. Does this make any sense?

I so feel the warped perception of sports based on our local communities. Like, I grew up with my very obviously asian dad coaching my hockey teams so in my head it was like why wouldn’t asians belong in hockey. But in retrospect, I think he was the only non-white coach I ever saw anywhere in my twelve year long minor hockey career.
And then I start thinking about how I should volunteer to coach girls hockey, hm. Someday…

And man, yeah... it's so interesting how local community impacts how we see sports. Growing up I saw some pretty diverse local kids baseball team. I think the winds have changed pretty dramatically over the past 10-15 years at the major league level but I still remember when people were like oh yeah baseball is a white people sport and it was just...where?? Where
I didn't watch or play hockey at all growing up so I have no idea but I imagine you would be such a good get for girls hockey in your area!! I hope you do it 🎉

this is like the hardest question ever seeing as i have 150+ fics to my name to choose from… honestly my fun aus. GOD!! i think my dragonrider fic with their coloured armour/swords like I want to see… alternatively a different vibe being my underworld au. lycan josh and vampire death dealer morgan in all his black leather + guns. Well yes!

I unfortunately don’t have a clip for this once because it only exists as dot point in my note book at the moment but here’s the synopsis.
It’s part of my punk au where josh in in a band is scheif, kc and helle. He used to be in a band with draisaitl and they dated on an off for years before an eventual messy break up and josh moving to winnipeg.
Bear is a new security guard at adams bar which happens to be where josh plays most often. He’s both a little intimidated and a lot infatuated by josh after watching them play for a few weeks, he knows very little about punk culture and just assumes josh thinks he’s lame and that all the flirting on stage is just for show like scheif with kc (spoiler neither of them are just for show).
It all comes to a head when draisaitl (sorry to make him the villain the narrative is just too convenient) turns up and starts causing trouble for josh at the bar so Morgan has to throw him out and they end up fighting. Eventually morgon comes back to josh who’s both worried and a little into it when he see’s that bear has a split lip and a black eye.

David spent the days following his fishhook incident nursing his sore hand and thinking about Morgan. He was staying out of the water more than usual, where the salt stung the still-healing gouge, and sitting around in his human shape gave him a lot of time to think.
He spent most of that time on a strip of secluded shoreline, where he could wrap himself up in his coat and think about Morgan's winter-blue eyes and the urgency with which he had returned David's coat. Sweet, David thought, as he had thought in the moment, feeling an unfamiliar warmth spread inside his ribcage.
Morgan had shown him kindness more than once; first in freeing his flipper from the hook, and second by returning David's pelt. Most humans would not even manage the first. For both together, David could not put Morgan out of his mind.
David's travels along the shoreline had carried him far from his usual seal-shape haunts, and he blamed that distance from his fellow selkies for his decision to go to Morgan again. He believed deep in his heart that Morgan could be trusted, but few selkies believed any human could be trusted. Essentially, there was nobody to talk David out of following the path from the beach up to Morgan's little home on the outskirts of his village.
He carried his pelt in his arms rather than wearing it as a cloak, preparing to hand it over. His stride was more of a march than a walk, as if the actions of his body could convince his mind that he wasn't making a mistake.
Morgan's door presented a final obstacle—and a final chance to turn back. David stared at it for a moment, hugging his pelt tighter, but did not turn around. Instead, he rapped his knuckles firmly against the wood.
The door swung open a moment later and Morgan stood there, his pale face smudged with black dirt but his blue eyes shining clear and bright from the mess. His eyes went wide and a little wild when they focused on David.
David smiled. "Hello, Morgan," he said.
4. What are some words or phrases you feel like you overuse?
now this is difficult... i try not to be too overusey if i can catch myself BUT i do also have over 100 E-rated fics and well to be quite honest there are only so many ways to describe explicit sex. and sometimes it feels like i've done them all twice.
that being said idk i like making guys bite the inside of their cheeks #relatable
18. How many WIPs do you have and how many do you expect to finish?
ok i counted my gdocs and TECHNICALLY i have ten unpublished, "in progress" fics. um. i think i'll probably finish two of them at this point? two of them are my attempts at asoiaf aus, two are pwps from 2020 that can never see the light of day, one is a kcwheels WHA jets au (miss herrrrr...), another kc-centric fantasy au that i never decided a pairing for, one is the surferkyle fic i've been trying and failing to write since 19-20, then there's a doc for a timeloop au with like one sentence in it AND of course bear bear au and my porn studio jets au. the latter are the ones i'll probably finish. someday.
Less a fic and more a combination of fics, I guess. Would I be able to ask for 3 and 4 for the December ficlets collection?

3: What’s your favorite line of narration?
I think it has to be this one (from it's gonna be cold, you know?):
Vladdy should be sitting in a lounge by now, bags checked, drink in hand, but instead he’s in the parking lot scraping frost off his windshield with a hotel keycard he should have returned.
It's hard to really set a scene in a really short fic, at least for me, and this one is 300 words. I think that line works really well at establishing a mood and showing how things aren't going great, and it feels like it's a pretty vivid image
4: What’s your favorite line of dialogue?
Ok also from the same fic because I really like that one:
“My place, it’s gonna be cold, you know? The heat’s really low when I’m away,” he says, quiet like he thinks Vladdy doesn’t want to hear it.
Bo wants to be with Vlad! But he doesn't know how to ask even though Vlad would absolutely just bring him home if he had any idea Bo wanted that! So he just says it's too cold to go home!
Thanks so much for asking about these fics :) I had so much fun writing them (not just this one, I think the others are also good but this fic had more really good individual lines rather than an idea i like spread out over more lines if that makes any sense?)
