"So Bri any plans for today?"
"Hmm no not really, we have already seen a lot, the rijksmuseum, the Anne Frank house, castle the haar, the dom tower, the Efteling, keukenhof, kinderdijk, vaalserberg and a lot more so i have no idea where we should go"
"Wel i have something, its a suprise." she smiled softly
"Alright lets go then" Brian stood up And walked out the hotel room "are you coming?"
"Yeah hold on a sec" she grabed the tickets and put them in her purse, once they got to side walk they went to their rental car. "I'll drive" they went from amsterdam over the A7 that went over the afsluitdijk (its about a hour and 15 minut drive)
"Tell me y/n where are we going?"
"Its a suprise Bri"
"Alright fine" he pouted, About an hour and a half later they arive.
"We are here, but its a tiney little walk" y/n parked the car
"Im wondering what the suprise is" he smiled while he took her hand
"You will see very soon" she kissed Brian kiss cheek
After a 10 minut walk they arived, Brian was met with the front of an old building with "planetarium" writen on the front
"Whats this?"
"Your suprise come on" they went inside
The woman at the front desk looked up " Hello welcome at the eise eisinga planatarium te Franeker, do you have any tickets or do you want to book a tour?"
Y/n grabed her purse "yes i have the tickets, here they are" she handed them to the woman
"Everything looks to be in order you may walk further, there are some tour guides so if you have any questions feel free to ask " the woman handed her a pamflet
"Lets go have a look around you wil like this bri"
He smiled and grabed her hand "Alright thanks y/n"
"Oh look here" she readed the pamflet
"The Planetarium Room is the centrepiece of the Eise Eisinga Planetarium. The model of the sun with the 6 planets turning around it still functions. This makes it the oldest working planetarium in the world. During your visit, you will be given plenty of information in the Planet Room. This explanation will take about 15 minutes. You can discover the rest of the museum, including the radar on your own., that sounds really intresting"
"Are there any other exebition?"
"Um hold on lets, ah yes its said here that there is an exebition about eise eisinga his wool combing career and also a beautiful collection of astronomical instruments plus you can digitally browse through Eisinga's beautiful mathematical and astronomical manuscripts!"
"Oh wow amazing, may i have a look?"
"Yes sure here" she handed him the pamflet while they walked up the stairs
" they also have some realy old astronomical instruments i would love to see those they are in the exebition stars and zodiac signs "
Both y/n and Brian walked in to a room where was Galaxy print on the wall, also some of the planets (this is the space exebition)
Y/n looked at the astronomical instrument that was displayed it was a tiny model of the moon turning around the earth and the earth around the sun, and the sun was an old candle
"Have you ever seen a model like this bri?"
"No never that is verry special"
To the right was an replica of the same model
It turns and shows the months and days and it also showed how a solar eclips works
"This is so cool" Brian looked at it in wonder
"Aw you are so adorble when you are talking about space"
"I am not"
"Dont try to deny it Brian, thats a thing i love about you, you have a lot of pashion about the things that intrest you"
"Thanks y/n" he huged her side ways " lets go further" he took her hand and leaded her to the next room, EISE AND THE GREEK ASSY'S exebition
"Ooh" y/n let go of Brian his hand and walked up to one of the displays "this is so cool, i wish i could get you something like this bri"
"You don't have to dear its completly fine, besides the models that we have now are say more advanced"
"True", they both looked around a little more and they decided to look further
"where to now?"
"Um let me have a look.. Oh ah to the planatarium it self its down stairs"
"Alright lets go then" Brian softly grabed y/n her hand and they both went down stairs
"Brian slow down i'll trip" she giggled
"Sorry im just exited"
Once they reached the room where the planetarium was located they sat down, both of them looked at the ceiling
"Its beautyfull isnt it?"
"Not as beautyfull as you"
"Aw bri stop you are making me blush"
"Good day everyone, hope you all are exited for the tour for today" a man said, he had a long stick in his hand "im Eric (just a random name) and today im going to tell you all about this special seiling" he pointed at it with the stick
"Lets start with the story of the maker of this special ceiling, Eise Eisinga was born on February 21, 1744 in Dronrijp. He also attended primary school there. Like many children in those days, he had to come home to work, in his case in his father's wool combing workshop. In addition to wool combing, he took over his father's interest in things such as astronomy and mathematics. He was so eager to learn that at a young age he walked weekly to Franeker, where he studied Euclid's mathematics books with Willem Wijtses, a wool dyer. At the age of 24, Eisinga married Pietje Jacobs, after which he settled in Franeker as a wool comber in 1768."
Brian looked in wonder at eric as he told the story
"On May 8, 1774, a special conjunction of planets took place. At dawn, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and the Moon were close together in the sky. It was claimed that the mutual forces of these celestial bodies would throw the earth out of its orbit and burn it in the sun. Eelco Alta, pastor from Bozum, made this prediction. In April 1774 an article about the writing of this 'lover of the truth', as he called himself, appeared in the Leeuwarder Courant. The paper was titled "Philosophical Thoughts on the Conjunction of the Planets." Alta's ideas caused a lot of unrest among the population. The authorities tried to intervene by banning the writing, but the damage was already done."
"His great knowledge of mathematics and astronomy came in handy for Eisinga when, in May 1774, unrest broke out over Eelco Alta's prediction. To give people an accurate picture of the solar system, he built a model of the solar system in his living room. Seven years passed between his very first idea and its final realization. Since 1781, Eisinga's model has closely followed the orbits of the 6 planets in our solar system. This makes it the oldest planetarium in the world that still works its now 240 years old, the restoration of the planetarium was in 2013 when it was completely disassembled thoroughly checked and reassembled in the same way."
Brian put up his hand "I have a question"
"Yes sir over there"
"Wel if it was completly dismanteld how did you all know wich part to pull lose and how to put it back togeter"
"Exelent question wel you see, eise left behind a hand book with great deltais of how to restaurate it no thing should be replaced if posible unles it can't be ells, one thing that we have to re do every 22 years is this plank"
"There is only room for 22 years on the relevant shelf. Every year on December 31, the plank is automatically moved by a nail on the date wheel, so that the new year is revealed at exactly midnight. Until he comes to an end. ,,Fortunately, Eisinga has left us an instruction that describes exactly what to do if the plank comes to an end."
"In the circle around it are the days written the pointer wil acurtly say wich day it is and wich hour of the day"
(I had to do some reserch for this excuse me if its not acurate)
Eric pointed at the ceiling again
1 and 2 . months on the ecliptic and the constellations 2. Also farest point
3. The days and the year
4. north knot (constellations)
5. Moon phase
6. Spring and winter
7. autumn and summer
8. All planet rings (sun in the center, Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn plus the models of the moons turning around the planets)
"This was the presatation if there are any questions feel free to ask"
Brian and y/n stood up she turned to him " lets go upstairs and see the gear work"
"Alright Sure" they both went up the stairs Brian had to be verry carefull not to bump his head "god these ceilings are so low, outch!"
"Carefull bri"
"Sorry" once they were in the attic of the house they were greated by the glass where behind were the woeden gears of the planatarium "absolutly amazing he really was ahead of his time"
Once they had a look around they went down stairs again and looked further trough the displays" (there is mutch more but i don't want to spoil it al thats no fun)
When they came at the entrence they were bid goodbye by the person at the desk "oh before you go you may choose a card with your zodiac sign" they picked their cards and went out
They waved goodbye and went back to their car " Thanks y/n This was amazing" he kissed her fourhead
"Your welcome bri" she leaned in to him
And they both went on their way back to the hotel
The end
