I adore mixing and matching when it comes to creating a table design. Here, I am designing using a delicate French Limoge placesetting created in the late 1800’s. I paired them with a modern Kate Spade pink and gold plate beneath. I also have a white linen placemat stiched with gold thread placed on top of a lovely @april.cornell tablecloth. Using vintage or antique china, napkins, drinkware, and serving pieces brings to your table a depth of character that is welcoming and inviting. Mixing and matching patterns is such a lovely way to bring interest and color to your table. Swipe life to see a dessert I created. On this day, I made peach and blueberry galette with a Graham Cracker Crust. I found it on the cover of @bonappetitmag. Since both peaches and blueberries are in season, it was the perfect dessert for my guests. The recipe was easy to make and super delicious. When serving my dessert, I used a large rustic serve board and simply laid a few desserts on it for my guest to take as they wished. I love using wooden serving pieces like this because it changes things up and brings a wholesome feel to the table. Casual elegance doesn’t mean you have to use all your best china. You can bring warm colors, wooden pieces and mix old with new.
