#pizza slice

While there are several Buscemi’s locations around the Detroit area, they aren’t equal when it comes to their pizza.

The abomination in this photo came from the Buscemi’s on Nine Mile Road in Hazel Park. To call this pizza in the first place is an insult to others pizzas of the world.

What I found inexplicable was that I bought this slice of pizza at 6 pm on a beautiful Friday evening. It was the only pizza they had available, and the guy behind the counter was clearly not cooking any new pizzas. Why wouldn’t they be cranking out pizzas for hungry people eager to party their weekend away?

That should’ve been my first clue.

No one was buying their pizza because everyone in the area already knew their pizza is shit. And with Loui’s Pizza right around the corner, Hazel Park residents have a vastly superior option nearby.

Not exactly the best batch of slices I’ve ever gotten from Buscemi’s, but a bad slice at the Utica location is better than the best pizza at most chain franchise joints.

A friend of mine has told me that the only thing that the Utica location does differently from the rest, is that they add a little extra sugar to the standard Buscemi’s sauce (which you can buy at fancy supermarkets). If that’s indeed the case, then it certainly works.
