Rewatching rise and...man I miss them :']
I don't watch rise nearly enough as id like, cuz part of me is afraid I'll get sick of it. But nope. It never gets old and I'm always realizing new things every rewatch. I might make another post over little things I've found. I've been knee deep in fanon for too long, so this is a really nice refresher.
This'll be my fourth entire rewatch if I continue. I put it on bc i was in the kitchen all day and I only watch shows in the background that ive already seen. It kept me sane for a good 6 hours. Turtles are once again giving me so much joy

One of my tmnt headcanons that's always running in the back of my mind is the possibility that the turtles are nocturnal. Its something that's implied in canon, yet I've never really seen it used explicitly in fanon.
Like staying up til 3 would not be donnie working late, it'd be the turtles dinnertime. They probably spend their time sleeping 7am-2pm since april is in school anyways. Outside of a couple instances, the events of the show all occur during late afternoon/night. Our dinnertime is their lunch. "Staying up late" is being awake during the morning.
It's a small thing that I think about. And it stems from the logistics of their lifestyle just not making much sense to adhere to the "perfect" human sleep schedule of 10pm-6am

The biggest lie the rise fandom ever led me to believe was that leo is the main character of rise. When raph is RIGHT THERE.
I remember mapping out tmnp (my rottmnt/pokemon crossover) and when you break the original show down episode by episode, most if not all of the main overarching story plot beats are given to raph. Leo is often secondary to raph (hello leo the lancer) which is UNUSUAL IN A TMNT ITERATION. (Its usually flipped). Ofc the movie came along (and maybe im taking a lot of fan perception post movie), but prior to that the show was about Raph. (Atleast in terms of interacting with the overarching plot).
I do wonder if rise was given 7 seasons, would we start seeing more of a split focus amongst the turtles instead of relying on raph or leo to drive the A Plot. Wouldve loved to see that. Esp mikey. Rise's biggest fumble.

I was about to jump ship over the new tumblr update. I already went nearly 11 days off of this site, I was perfectly fine just prolonging that hiatus indefinitely. I was not about to work around the new changes to credit og posts on art, like...i don't have time for that, this blog is for my side fandoms at the end of the day. I might as well be on instagram at that point.
BUT HEY, TUMBLR ACTUALLY LISTENED TO ITS USERS.
So I'm here to stay! (NOW im officially back haha)
