He was, admittedly, nervous. He wasn't quite sure why he'd let Dana set this up; she'd been, recently, more than a little pushy about him starting to date, to stop being so lost pining for what he'd had with Abby which was now gone. It felt weird, but... here he was. Not quite in a suit; a white tee, underneath a blazer, in a pastel blue tone which goes nicely with his eyes, and dark trousers. He had dithered about whether or not to go with jeans, but decided he wanted to be more smart than casual. His eyes flickered around the space, trying to see anyone he recognised. Dana had given him no description, so he really didn't know what to expect.

"Oh, um, hi?" She wasn't sure what had given the I need a hug impression but it wouldn't be the first time she'd gotten hugged at random. "Are you okay?" She asked with a tilt of her head.

"That's not a little blood." he was moving already, reaching out towards her, "Sit down." he ordered, voice tight. "Let me see."

"Sorry. Sorry." he straightened his spine, grimacing as he did so, blinking at the computer in front of him. He cleared his throat. He'd been trying to get the last bit of his charting done, and Tanner had a cold so he'd been up half the night with him trying to soothe him, not to mention the pain had been really bad so he... was... tired. Very tired.

"Mm? No, no, I'm uh..." he cleared his throat. "I'm doing a double, sorry, did I not..? I thought I told you." he grimaced just slightly, well aware he'd been taking on a lot of double shifts recently. He held up his red bull. "I'm all good."

"What if this is it?" she asked, shoulders lifting into a shrug as she let her chin fall forwards onto her knees. "What if I'm not cut out for this like you are?"

A patient has finally been handed off, and the trauma bay is quiet for all of thirty seconds before John's attention lands on Belle. "Alright," he says, pointing at her with the pen in his hand. "Trainee means you still have enough optimism left to answer this honestly." His expression is completely serious. "On a scale of one to ten, how much of your training has been actual medicine, and how much has been learning how to function on three hours of sleep and a gas station energy drink?"
