Na cidade de Curitiba a floração dos ipês – árvores nativas do Brasil – acontece em tempos diferentes, de acordo com a espécie. O primeiro a se encher de flores é o ipê roxo. Os ipês amarelos e brancos vem logo em seguida, quando caem todas as suas folhas e as flores duram 15 dias.
