Here’s chapter 12 of “First Time on Earth” for y’all!

Heyyyyyyyyy. I’ve been basically drowning irl, so I haven’t exactly been able to focus on writing anything BUT I have been playing around with something, just a totally “mini” one shot that I’m working every now and then when I’m feeling down. It’s been a delicious treat for me. I’m not gonna give any more context. Well besides this snippet just cuz why not lol
“Yo! Dad! You wanna play video games with me!” The spry blue hedgehog called out from the couch. A controller in hand.
“Uhhh I don’t think so, bud. I’ve only got one hand to loose. I’d say you’d have a pretty unfair advantage. What about your brothers? Why don’t you ask them?” Tom displayed his arm in his sling to Sonic.
“They are both doing their own thing right now. Is Mom home yet?” Sonic asked.
“Not yet, she should be on her way soon, though. She’s picking up dinner on her way home from work.”
Sonic hummed at that. Right as he booted up his console, his ears perked up. A sound echoed in his ear as he felt the air shift. It was hardly noticeable. It sounded like someone screaming, but it made his fur stand on end from how horrific it sounded.
“Did you hear that?” Sonic looked at Tom just as the TV screen came to life. Tom only looked confused as he looked around to try and hear what he was hearing, but heard nothing.
“No. What was it?”
“I’m- I’m not quite sure, but it didn’t sound good.” Sonic looked towards the window. He didn’t have to say anything else for Tom to understand what he was implying.
“Be careful.” Was all Tom said before Sonic used that as his permission to investigate. In a blur of blue, he disappeared from the living room. He scoured the woods towards the direction of the sound. His eyes darted in every direction.
He reached the lake where he and Tom enjoyed their “bonding moments” or whatever Tom had called it. He did a single loop around, but something in his gut told him to move just a little slower.
That’s when in the corner of his eye along the side of the lake where a bunch of plants reached and covered the edge of the shallow side. He spots a glint of color that wouldn’t typically be there. A glint of white, gold, and red. In a second he’s there and immediately he recognizes what was bobbing in the water. It was the edge of a familiar shoe.

So like… I swear a FTOE (and im working on P:E) update is coming. I’ve got a one shot coming in the FTOE universe of this young Shadow struggling with trying to figure out “hibernating” works. But I’ve been kinda busy and my attention keeps getting drawn away. Then soon after I’ll get a regular update up!!!!! Thank you for all the support for these little stories!!
