Calabrian pine (lat. Pinus brutia) or Turkish pine. It received its name in honor of Calabria, a region in southern Italy. However, the natural range of the Calabrian pine extends from the southern part of the Balkan Peninsula in the north to Lebanon in the south.

It is often used in landscaping around sanatoriums, in parks, along roads, and in alleys.

An interesting fact is the appearance of the Calabrian pine in Tajikistan. This pine occurred along the routes taken by Muslim pilgrims traveling to Mecca. More than a hundred years ago, a group of pilgrims collected seeds and planted them in their homeland, in the village of Arbobi, where a small grove now exists, with trees reaching up to 27 meters in height. This marked the first successful attempt to introduce this species to Central Asia🌲

Сосна калабрийская (лат. Pinus brutia). Получила свое название в честь Калабрии — области на юге Италии. Правда, естественная часть ареала сосны калабрийской распространена от юга Балканского полуострова на севере до Ливана на юге.

Часто используется в озеленении территории вокруг санаториев, в парках, вдоль дорог и в аллеях.
