So the other day I saw this clip from an upcoming animated adaptation of Animal Farm and got pissed that a serious and mature book that was created as a political allegory is being turned into a children's comedy with celebrity voice actors. Napoleon is even being voiced by Seth Fucking Rogen. Yes, Napoleon, the character that's supposed to represent Stalin. Fucking Stalin,
It sucks because I honestly would've loved a new animated adaptation of Animal Farm, as long as its for adults and keeps the dark tone from start to finish. I do know there was an animated film adaptation in the 50s but even that wasn't a perfect adaptation since it changed the ending to a happier one where Napoleon and the other pigs get defeated, ruining the point of the book. An ideal adaptation would be a serious and dark animated film for adults that keeps the dark ending of the book.
Anyway since I'm fueled by spite it made me want to try drawing some of the characters from the book (or at least just the animal characters I could fit into one drawing lol).
