After looking at this piece entitled 'Year Zero' by Christiaan Bastiaans and many other portraits from various artists, I decided to then look at myself and think about although I am only one person, I have many different layers. I tried to convey this through my piece (I know it's not the very best representation of what I look like) through a continuous line drawing. I like to think of myself of someone who is consistent in who I present myself as and try not to change that for anyone. I went into 'Year Zero' with that approach; simply being who I am, honestly and with every layer included. Although not all of my 'layers' are physically visible on my portrait, like Christiaan Bastiaans' elements, I like to think that the different colours and thicknesses of the line represent these.
