one of my favorite underrated scenes in season one of Spartacus is when Crixus wakes up from his injuries and discovers Barca has “purchased his freedom” and he’s so happy until they tell him Barca left Pietros and immediately he’s like “he’d sooner part with his own cock” and is immediately suspicious. Capsized is a rarepair CSI/MacGyver crossover fic I started forever ago, so I guess you made the right pick :D
Monsters of the Sea started out as a direct sequel to Savages East of the Rhine. I have a lot of snippets and ideas all thrown together but I'm lacking structure and I can't decide whose POV to focus on. The main themes are further developing the relationship between Auctus and Lugo, as well as Pietros finding his role in the rebellion.
This of course includes the bond between Auctus and Pietros:
Overcome by a humbling sense of marvel, Pietros overlooked the vastness of their campground. He yet found it hard to wrap his mind around the sheer number of men, women and children that have found their way to their cause.
"What thoughts move you to stand so idle?”
He smiled at the familiar voice of Auctus behind him but found it hard to find answer - too many thoughts warred in his mind.
“None?” Auctus prodded, pushing at his shoulder.
Pietros huffed.
"Move then. I would have you train with me."
