╰┈➤ ⊹ ࣪ ˖your either Ava's neighbor or took her place⊹ ࣪ ˖
╰┈➤⊹ ࣪ ˖Context: Pierce comforts you!(It's assumed you have a job in this setting but you can skip the beginning paragraph 3 to when you enter the apartment if you don't like that.) You came home from a long day at work and want to relax. Pierce helps you with that!
It kinda had an abrupt ending sorry! Feedback and requests are always welcomed!
The clock ticked slowly as (Name) worked at his desk finishing up his latest report. It had been a long day of doing tedious tasks, meetings, paperwork, and calls with people who almost seem incompetent. (Name) couldn't wait for the clock to tick just a second over his shift time just so he could leave as fast as he could.
He quickly left his workplace with his bag and jacket in hand. (Name) Hurried to the bus stop he waits at almost every just to get back home. Soon the bus arrived, he sat in a seat and sunk into the bus seat with relief. Work was over...but he had to deal with more. Five daemos in his apartment. They were a fun bunch, but dealing with them and having to juggle work is harder than he expected. All (Name) can hope for is that his apartment was in one piece...mostly.
Soon the bus stopped at (Name)'s stop and he got off the bus, entered the building, walked up the stairs, opened his bag to look for his keys to unlock his door apartment, and opened it. Finally. Home. For the first time (Name) let himself relax. Entering the door, he dropped his bag and jacket not bothering to actually hang it up. He took a few steps in as he closed the door behind him only to be greeted by a black and white cat that meowed happily and rubbed against his legs.
(Name) Have a small smirk before crouching down to scratch behind the cats ear. A purr was rewarded in the action. (Name) Straighten up back to full height and looked around his dimly lit apartment. It was quiet. Too quiet. He walked deeper into the apartment to find the living room empty...weird. sure it was a little late but usually all the Deamos would be out here. With a small shrug he brushes it off. More peace to (Name).
He walked over to the kitchenette and opened the fridge to look for something to eat...a whole bunch of leftovers of Rhys' cooking. He was experiencing a lot with his cooking lately. (Name) Wasn't going to complain. Most of Rhys' cooking was actually good even if it were simple dishes. So, (Name) grabbed a random plate of leftovers and walked over to the microwave to heat up the food.
As he waited he leaned against the counter undoing a button of his shirt trying to ease up a bit. He took a big sigh and closed his eyes. With the humming of the microwave and the soft cool blow of the AC it felt nice. Normal even. But, even these feelings must come to an end with the harsh beep of the microwave. (Name) Opens his eyes to be met with a pair of blue ones. This made (name) jump nearly giving him a heart attack.
He ran his hand over his face before just turning to take the leftovers out of the microwave. His back turned to the daemos. "You really need a bell or something, Pierce..." (Name) Muttered, as he reaches out to a draw for a fork. He leaned against the counter once again and started to eat. He really didn't expect a word from Pierce. He was always the quieter one out of the five.
"If I were to have a bell then my stealth wouldn't be as effective." Pierce confirmed, blinking slowly as he looked at (Name). He clearly saw the fatigue in the other man's appearance. It made his brows furrow at that thought. (Name) Have a small laugh and shook his head as finished taking a bite. He looked up from the plate to meet Pierce's gaze with a quirked brow. "Yes, that is the point I am making. I'm not too fond of unexpected appearances."
"You seem tired, Prince (name)" Pierce stated as if it was fact...and completely changed the subject. (Name) shrugged as he finished the last bite from the plate and placed the dishes in the sink to be washed when he wasn't so tired. "Eh, not more than usual..why? Worried?" (Name) Mused with a soft but teasing smirk. "Yes." (Name) froze, why would he be worried? Sure, he played a role in keeping all five of the daemos in line and a place to live but besides that what else would any of them care about?
Pierce clearly sees (Name)'s confusion made him continue. "You are important. It would be best that you are at your best for us and yourself." Pierce answered as he took a step closer and lifted a hand to pat the human's head. (Name) Tensed up slightly but definitely welcomed it. It was soothing...he let out a small hum and nodded.
"I see...well I will rest. I promise. It's uh just been a long day is all." He muttered, seeming a little grateful that at least they seem to care...or well Pierce seems to care. (Name) Leaned into the pats a little before catching himself and clearing his throat and walking past Pierce towards his bedroom thinking he could just end the night here but Pierce followed him...as he opened his bedroom door he noticed that Pierce was right behind him.
(Name) Raised a brow with a small confused smile. "Uh...did you still need something piece?..." He asked, hoping that he actually didn't need anything so he could rest. "No." Pierce answered. A small relief flooded through (Name) but it raised more questions though. "Then...uh why are you following me?"—"To make sure you do rest." A small laugh escaped from (Name). What was he going to do? Doomscroll on his phone at an unreasonable time and only have a few hours of sleep before another day of shenanigans?... probably.
(Name) Rolled his eyes before simple nodding and walking to him room. Pierce followed crouching through the door before returning to full height once again. He looked around the somewhat messy room. Clothes were scattered here and there, a few water bottles on the nightstand, and the messy bed. All an amalgamation of (Name)'s routine. For better or worse. While Pierce was looking. Around the room (Name) went into his personal bathroom to get changed into some more suitable clothes to sleep in. He walked back into bed room and immediately sat on his bed and grabbed his phone to check something.
Pierce stepped closer to (Name), looking down at him. (Name) Looked up at him seeming unsure if letting Pierce in his room was such a good idea. Pierce took the phone out of (name)'s hand and placed it on the night stand. (Name) Was about to protest but suddenly he was pulled into an embrace. His protest died in his throat as confusion bubbled in his thoughts. "I heard that humans embrace to comfort the other. That's what Rhys said he found on the com-pooter"
(Name) Cursed himself mentally for letting the daemos have access to your computer. With a. Sigh he just went with it and leaned into the blue horned daemos. His muscular arm were surprisingly very comfortable and his embrace was secure but not too tight...it was strange but welcoming. "...I suppose your right in a way. Uhm...thank you for caring I guess." (Name) Muttered into Pierce.
The daemos tighten his hold slightly and let out a small hum. It was as if he was waiting to do something like this... probably. Or either he was really good at it for no reason. Either way it make (name) feel better.
Work was exhausting. Genuinely exhausting. Of course it was. Working with people who don’t listen at the cafe just downtown wasn’t fun, you would say that. As they trudged through Ava’s door, your footsteps heavy and eyes tired, filled with exhaustion. So tired that they hadn’t even noticed Pierce at first. The daemos guard was rather quiet, looking out the window with a calm look in his eyes. He had only lifted his head when hearing the door closing, and the sound of footsteps. “Prince/Princess/Monarch Y/N?” His voice spoke out, catching your attention rather quickly now.
“Pierce! Irene, don’t scare me like that-” You spoke as they turned on your heels, running a hand through your own hair as Pierce walked over, standing in front of the shorter individual. “Are you alright?” He would ask with the tilt of his head, his expression faltering to hold a worried one. As much as you wanted to lie, they would shake your head at Pierce’s question. “Work was stressing me out, and I’m just-” They paused, letting out a sigh before trying to speak. But.. for a moment, they couldn’t. your words catching in your throat.
Pierce had been quick to notice this. He had picked up on things that led to what Ava had called tears. He couldn’t recall how tears happened, but he knew what they were. As the tears had begun to flow down your cheeks, the taller daemos had made his way over, gently wrapping his arms around you. In an embrace. And as much as Pierce hadn’t been the most physical touch fan, he was making an exception, so it seemed. He had gently rubbed the others back, humming slightly. No song, but something to keep your minds eased.
You hadn’t even processed what happened next. One second, you were being hugged by Pierce, the next you were being carried and placed onto the couch. “How do you like your tea?” You would hear Pierce ask once he had placed you down, in which you gave your tea orders before watching the daemos dressed in light blue and black turn to make his way into the kitchen. He recalled seeing how Rhys made tea, so he only hoped he could figure it out the same way the smartest of the daemos boys could. Which, it took him a little to fully figure it out.
When he had returned from the kitchen, he was gently holding a mug of tea for you, only reaching for the TV remote when you had taken your mug. “What is all this for?” You asked aloud, looking at the daemos boy who had placed a blanket gently over your lap, alongside with a pillow to your left, in place of the couch’s arm. Pierce, in almost “offense”, stared at you for a moment. “You said work was stressing you out.” He would point out, fluffing the pillow and reaching for the TV remote. At least one of them cares.
You weren’t saying the other daemos boys didn’t care, but Pierce was always gentle and sweet with you. Noi too. Rhys was more searching for answers and knowledge, Asch was more demanding, and Leif was his own category. Pierce was gentle, and genuinely, it was a shock how he was a knight for Asch. Though, as you watched Pierce, you took note of what he held. The remote. And oh boy, did you know what he was going to put on. The boys had been recently watching Socky The Sock Puppet, courtesy of Ava. Not that you were really complaining.
Noise was noise, so. If it helped you sleep, it worked. “You don’t hav to do all this, you know.” You pointed out as Pierce had sat alongside you, gently reaching a hand up to pat your head, like he’d done when you two had met. “I want to help.” Was all that Pierce replied with. As Socky played softly in the background, all you could think about was finally getting the rest you truly deserved. You didn’t work tomorrow, so hopefully you'll be able to sleep in a bit. Pierce would make sure nobody disturbed you, not even Leif himself.
As the two of you grew quiet, the only noise was Socky and both of your breathing. “..thanks for all this, Pierce.” You mumbled before taking a sip of the tea that the boy had provided for you. In response, Pierce had offered a small smile. Rare, but genuine. “You’re welcome, Y/N.” His voice was calm as he spoke once more. “You should get some sleep. I will be here when you wake up.” He explained, watching as you placed the tea down. “Alright.. Goodnight, Pierce.” You mumbled, leaning into the pillow he had provided prior. “..Goodnight, Y/N.”

pairing: marcus pierce x reader
word count: 1,501 words
warnings: mentions of death, break-ins, uhhhhh blood? general warnings, i mean, it is lucifer, after all
If someone had told you five years ago that you would be working at the LAPD for a man you couldn’t help but fall in love with, you probably would have laughed at them.
Authority was not your strong suit—so, of course, you found yourself working in Forensics alongside Ella Lopez. As sweet as she could be, she got on your nerves; mostly because she knew about your crush on the Lieutenant and she teased you about it anytime she saw you looking at him.
Like now.
You sat on a stool, carefully peering into your microscope as the Lieutenant came in.
“Got anything new?” he asked.
He looked a bit worried. This case had been bad. Nearly ten people have come up missing or dead; each had a description similar to yours. Men, women, even a young teenager had been killed. This serial killer didn’t care for gender, or age. But they had a particular taste in features.
“Not anything so far,” Ella began, but stopped when you had cleared your throat.
“Each victim so far has had similar eye colors,” you said, pushing your telescope away. “I can’t find anything in the blood samples, but I’ll keep looking.”
“Excellent. You do that, [Last name],” he said, giving you a faint smile. You blushed and nodded in response, looking back at your telescope so you could continue with your work.
You took no notice as Pierce cast a second glance your way. But Ella noticed.
Ella came over to your side, smiling widely. “Oooh,” she teased, poking your arm. “Did you see the way he looked at you?” she smiled.
You rolled your eyes. “It’s just because I look like the victims. Nothing special,” you said, looking up from your blood sample. “Do you wanna take a look at this?”
You stood up and let Ella look at the sample as you grabbed ahold of your drink.
The two of you wouldn’t find much the rest of the day—in fact, forensics wasn’t a big help at the moment. Lucifer had gone to see what he could do with the Detective and the Lieutenant was doing his own thing to help out with the case.
–
As soon as the clock read seven o’clock, you left. You quickly went to your apartment, not spending a second longer in the parking lot than you needed to.
Tossing your keys on the countertop, you groaned and slid off your coat from the day. That’s when you heard it. Something had shattered.
Dread filled the pit of your stomach; you couldn’t do anything to protect yourself. You didn’t own a gun; you weren’t trained for one, to begin with.
You quickly grabbed your phone, clicking one of your recent calls. You didn’t see who it was. But it didn’t matter. Anyone would hopefully know to come and help you—you hardly talked to anyone who wasn’t working in the police station.
Putting your phone up to your ear, you carefully made your way to the bathroom, keeping an eye out for whatever it was that caused the crash. But you didn’t own any pets and you never kept anything close to the edge of the tables you had throughout your home. There had to be someone there.
“Hello? [Last name]?”
Your heard dropped to your stomach, but you paid no mind to it. Your anxieties couldn’t stop you from talking to him right now.
“Lieutenant, I think there’s someone in my house.”
There was silence on the other line before he spoke up once more. “[Your name],” he frowned. “Someone in your house. Are you sure?”
“Yes. I’m sure,” you breathed out, holding onto your phone. “Lieutenant, what do I do?”
“Stay. You don’t have a gun, yeah? Just… hide somewhere. You’ll be okay,” he said, frowning deeply. He hung up his side of the phone call and hopped on his motorcycle.
Your heart dropped once more as fear spread through your body. You shut the bathroom door behind you and locked the door, looking around to see if there was anything that you could block the door with. No shelf, there wasn’t any sort of table. The only thing you had to move was a small trashcan.
You pressed your back against the wall to keep it from opening up and you sunk to the floor. You called Chloe as well, telling her that the Lieutenant was already on his way. Chloe called for backup, as Pierce had yet to do so.
You held your phone close and waited for someone or something to happen.
–
“[Your name]?”
What felt like an hour had only been a couple of minutes.
Pierce was knocking at the bathroom door. “[Your name]?”
You scrambled to your feet and quickly unlocked and opened the door. “Lieutenant?” you looked up, eyes wide.
“He’s in police custody—”
Pierce cleared his throat and looked over his shoulder. “I, uh, roughed him up a bit,” he moved out of the way to show you the broken mess in your living room. He was frowning.
“Thank you,” you quickly said. “I am so sorry for calling you, I just…”
“Don’t apologize,” he looked at you. “I am glad you called. If anything had happened to you—well, I don’t… really know what I would have done.”
You couldn’t help your blush from forming.
“I… thank you, anyways.”
The Lieutenant just smiled before he left to talk with the Detective.
You left your bathroom, coming out to look at the mess. There wasn’t much you could do except for replacing the things that could have been replaced. You looked towards the door, seeing Lucifer standing there. He looked at you and faintly smiled.
“I am glad you’re alright, [Last name],” he said. “I’m sure the Lieutenant could say the name,” he chuckled softly.
You rolled your eyes, running a hand through your hair.
“I’m serious,” Lucifer chuckled softly. “Pierce called Chloe when he got here.”
“Pierce said if you were hurt, he’d be killing—”
Your eyes widened and you practically choked on your own words. You looked up at the man, only to see Lucifer smugly grinning at you.
“What?”
“I do believe you heard what I said, [Your name],” he grinned, leaning against the doorframe. He crossed his arms over his chest, unable to stop his smiles.
You rolled your eyes and cleared your throat, turning your attention to the police cars outside your apartment.
Pierce looked over at you and sent you a soft smile.
While it was an unconventional scenario, you couldn’t help but wonder why Pierce didn’t just send someone else to help you. It would have been so easy for him just to call Chloe, as you had done once you calmed down.
–
You spent the next day spending most of your last paycheck on new things for your apartment living room, and a replacement lock for your front door. The second day after everything had happened, you went back to work.
Many didn’t say anything, but as soon as you made it to the forensics lab, Ella had hugged you tightly.
“I am so, so, so sorry for not coming to see you, I just got a new case, and I had so much to do, and I just couldn’t find the time to come and see—”
“Calm down,” you laughed and gave your friend a hug. “Calm down. It’s fine.”
“Right, sure, yeah, uh, Lieutenant brought something yesterday, said to give it to you when you get back…”
You just smiled at Ella, watching as she picked up a sticky note with your name on it. She handed it to you before she got back to work.
On the note, it just read, ‘Come by my office.’
You sighed, sitting it back down. “Give me a job to do when I get back, okay?”
Ella smiled and nodded, watching as you left for Pierce’s office.
–
Knocking on the door, you only went in as soon as you heard Pierce’s voice.
“[Last name],” he said, standing up from his desk. “I needed to talk to you. I’m so glad you came by.”
You gave him a soft smile. “I got your sticky note.”
“Oh. Right, well, there’s that,” he gave you a soft smile.
“What did you want to talk about? I, uh, I have a lot to catch up on, since I missed yesterday…”
“Right,” he watched you for a moment before he crossed his arms over his chest. “I’d like to take you out to dinner. If that’s okay. I… yesterday made me realize that I shouldn’t try to wait. So, if you’d let me—”
“—yes,” you said, smiling. “I’d love to go out to dinner with you.”
Marcus smiled. “Great. Are you… are you okay, yourself?”
“I’m fine, Lieutenant. Thanks to you.”
“Call me Marcus.”
You smiled at him and he returned it. Shortly after, you left his office and began to work while Ella badgered you with questions.
