#pidge headcanons

okay absolutely have not had mental capability for like anything creative but I’ve also started a job in real estate so interior design make me go brrrrrrrr lately-

Shiro I feel like is either really plain and like necessities only or really homely. Like he either has the most basic cheap couches and tables and chairs and like, the plain white plates you can by at Walmart for like 10 bucks (you know the ones) and all the walls are just whatever color the previous owners/renters had them as so he has a random light pink room, a green room, etc. OR OR OR you walk in and get smacked in the face by comfort, like he has knick knacks and pictures and random antiques littering every surface, he has a china cabinet with the fancy dishes, he has a cabinet dedicated to coffee mugs and like only two of them match cause the rest of that set broke ages ago, all the other Paladins have their own designated mug, like it’s never specified but like, you KNOW the teal one with the cow that god knows where came from is Kieths, and that’s just how it works. I don’t think he has a specific color pallet bc it’d depend on like what the house looks like, and it’s either minimalistic or the vibe of the house.

- anemic and Hates the cold (the coldest of space doesn't count to her)

- didn't necessarily mind being referring to as a girl growing up but just never felt like it was quite right

- "i might be nonbinary but i gotta fight in a space war so im not worried about that rn"

- always did her own hair cause they don't like other people touching it (did let her mom help but that's it cause matt is way too bad at it)

- bruises easily but that's just cause they're pale

- switches between viewing shiro as a father and brother figure while she's missing both of hers

- views lance, keith, and hunk all as kinda stand in brothers but lance more so than the others since he is the closest to matt personality wise

- rarely actually sleeps in her bed and usually ends up taking naps in a little nook she's made up in the corner of the room with pillows and blankets (uses some blankets as curtains to block out light)

- always slept with a nightlight so they'd always have a light to work with in the dark and is now just so used to it they find it hard to sleep without one

- bites their nails

- allergic to nuts (coran helps them check for any kind of nut equivalent things on alien planets)

- high pain tolerance (a struggle to the others as she will insist she's fine over some injuries they really shouldn't be fine over)

- green and the other lions refer to them as "the cub" or "their cub" due to her being the youngest

- insomniac (them and keith end up staying up together watching movies or training a lot)

- everyone assumed they would be embarrassed explaining to allura and coran what periods were when they ran out of supplies for that in space but they did not care honestly she gave just a pretty straight forward explanation and they seemed to understand it was pretty much just basic human biology and helped find alternatives (pidge is a scientist they don't give a fuck when it comes to talking about that)

- i know in canon the glasses they wear aren't real cause she took the real lenses out but in my mind they are and she wore them too much so their eyes adjusted and now they actually need them (she's very annoyed by that)

- holds the record for "most times used as a human shield" (very bitter about that too)

- never really considered all those blowing up galra ships and stuff as kills cause they were so disconnected from it but the first time she actually killed someone face to face it didn't really register in the moment cause of all the adrenaline then when it finally did they threw up cause it really tripped her up despite that just being a reality of war

- has gotten captured solo before and took so long to tell the others the full extent of what happened despite them already seeing the scars

- hates cryopods (too cold and makes her brain all fuzzy tho lance says that's the appeal of it cause he doesn't have to think (keith says he never thinks anyways))

- likes to keep themselves occupied especially when there's no mission or fight and the paladins have free time so has so many half started and half finished projects

- has recorded videos for each paladin (and their family) in case she dies

- didn't learn to swim in childhood cause they had beef with water (doesn't like being wet)

- did have to learn to swim when the others insisted after they almost drowned on a mission (did not like this but agreed and now they can)

- double jointed elbows (freaks coran and allura out)

-asexual lesbian but not really looking to date more so if it happens in the future after the war then hey it happens

- lets her hair grow out a little after the war but keeps it at around shoulder length

- has faint freckles but they never really show cause she rarely spends time in the sun for them to (mainly across their shoulders and back)

- paired with lance and hunk back at the garrison cause she was too smart for her age range but still didn't get as much combat training as they did

- felt kinda strange being referring to as he/him at the garrison (wasn't bad but also wasn't exactly right but definitely helped push they weren't fully a girl)

- wore a dress at a formal event one time and now never will again (did not feel good in it and also did not like the looks they got) so now tends to just match the guys in a button up and slacks

- doesn't hate dressing feminine but is just pretty picky about when to wear them (really has to be in the mindset for it cause it reminds her too much of who she used to be)

- always assumed to be a boy by people when they first meet and doesn't correct them (a safely thing allura and coran suggest so really only allies and friends know the truth)

rubbing your eyes, you let yourself lean into the green paladin beside you. pidge was showing you their recent discoveries on galra tech, emerald eyes of theirs sparkling with interest. their nimble fingers working against the keyboard while their mouth was spilling fact after fact about the coding of that machinery.

listening to pidge talk was amazing, every word you held onto, letting your heart buzz. it was akin to a schoolgirl crush. you weren’t sure when you began liking them more than friends, maybe you’ll let yourself believe in the fantasy of love at first sight. huh, maybe you had liked pidge since you met them, way back then.

it made sense, pidge was always the first to hear of any of your accomplishments, seeing you always made your way to their location to excitedly babble on about whatever you were doing. you always checked in on them, making sure they got enough sleep and ate enough food. the heat that would rise to your face whenever they made physical contact with you, maybe holding your hands to show you how to use a piece of tech.

soon a fog-like haze settled over your mind, and you were yawning a little more. you were tired. letting your mind wander back to the moment, leaning impossibly more into pidge as they were so absorbed in the explanation.

pidge was comfortable enough for you to just, maybe close your eyes, just for a little.

“so this part works a little different, here ill show you how to do it and then you can tr-,” they explained, looking over, ready to see you still awake. their eyes drifted to you sleeping and then to the tech. sighing, but still smiling, they began picking up what they could while you slept.

- i mean they share the lil sibling vibe

- they are both constantly annoyed by the others (except Shiro their hero)

- they are both angry and anti-social totally respecting that notion in each other

- meaningful side glances when Lance speaks wow

- together they actually stand a chance against Shiro in sparring matches

- Keith cutting Pidge‘s hair when it grows too long in her opinion. „Thank you, I can do that by myself very well!“ „Yeah, but you don‘t have to!“

- such stubborn little shits, but keep helping each other out quietly omg

- Keith shows Pidge where to hit enemies to take them out faster and more efficiently. Shiro doesn‘t mind being the test object, he still congratulates Pidge when he lies on the floor with a dislocated shoulder and blood running from his nose….

- Pidge explains some of the programming she does to Keith because he really wants to understand

- when Keith leaves for his Blade training Pidge is very hurt and sad. She misses Keith‘s silent agreement to her tying his hair into weird buns and putting makeup on his eyes.

- when he returns he notices that Pidge is distant so he just lies down over the keyboard of her computer one time like a cat that he is our Galra baby to make her pay attention to him

- she hits him off of it but can‘t help laughing at his high-pitched whines and eventually Keith is allowed to sneak in next to her and it‘s actually nice to have him back

- they would also totally be Shiro‘s fucking nightmare

- „SHIRO!! PIDGE PUT MY TOOTHBRUSH IN LANCE‘S BATHROBE!!“

- „SHIRO!! KEITH IS HOLDING MY BAYARD OVER HIS HEAD AND PUNCHING HIM DOESN‘T WORK!!“

- „SHIRO!!!“

- Shiro just steps between them like a tired Dad and tries to keep them apart
