I used to be slightly annoyed by Deltarune's use of era relevant memes/references based on when the dialogue was written for each chapter (like Chapter 4 having an Among Us reference), but recently I thought about how MyHouse.WAD does the same thing as a timestamp of its own creation and that change of mindset makes it very endearing.

took an impromptu trip to another out of town thrift store!! of course i had to search for some rick and morty merch :p
here’s the first shirt i found! i immediately knew i wasn’t gonna buy it though… because i already own it! (i actually brought it out of town with me lol, it’s a great sleep shirt)
next up is this one! i really like the colours and how bright the green is, thought about buying it but for $12 when i already have a million rick and morty shirts i passed lol. hopefully someone else will love it though!
a last but not least of course there’s a pickle rick shirt. i almosttttt bought this one, it was like a men’s XL and i thought it would make a good sleep shirt but it wasn’t super duper soft and was like $7 so maybe next time!
With the Rick and Morty comic series drawing to a close, one of the "nerdy" stores at the mall had a stack of new comics for (probably) the last time. I'm not a fan of non-canon media in any fandom, so I never read the comics and don't plan to, but I'll admit that seeing the last issue made me a little sad. It's the end of an era.
Still, Rick and Morty as a franchise isn't going anywhere. In fact, the other "nerdy" store had a Pickle Rick Funko Pop tucked underneath none other than Holly Short (have I mentioned that I love Artemis Fowl? I wish we'd get a decent movie that actually does the series justice.)
Ages ago, I ran into a guy at this same mall who told me that he bought his Rick and Morty shirt at Burlington Coat Factory. A new location had recently opened in the area, and--thinking of that guy--I knew I had to check it out. Sure enough, Burlington delivered.

I'm not sure why, but whenever I'm looking for Rick and Morty apparel at a thrift store, the men's socks/boxers section is always a safe bet. Apparently, there's a high demand among guys who enjoy watching Rick and Morty with their bros.
Finally, the larger mall in my area had a new bootleg poster. This one looks like it went through an AI generator a few times, making it double or triple bootleg. At least Squanchy's recognizable!
The same store also had a holographic sticker, with Morty's expression changing when you tilt it back and forth. Why choose one Morty expression when you can have two of the classics: angry AND yelling!
Season nine has been a whirlwind, and judging by the previews, it looks like things are going to get crazier from here. Honestly, I'm getting a little tired of the "classic" Rick and Morty dynamic, and I hope we're going to get some significant changes that give both characters something to smile about. We've got at least three seasons to go, so let's make the most of it...and maybe get a decent Crow Rick shirt already! ✨
