Okay I know I probably shouldn't have gotten emotional over Zaheer finally being able to fly, but I can't help it. As he said dozens of times he has to let go of his earthly tethers. Right before the battle he is telling Pi-Li how much he loves her, and how he thought of her everyday for those sixteen years in prison. Then the second she dies and he realizes she's gone that's when he jumps off the cliff with Korra. That's when he has no earthly or selfish ties. PI-LI WAS LITERALLY THE ONLY THING HE CARED ABOUT AND ONCE SHE WAS GONE HE HAD NOTHING. ONCE HE HAD NOTHING HE COULD FLY. DO YOU HAVE ANY CLUE HOW MUCH THAT HURTS ME, AND I DON'T EVEN SHIP IT!
