I wish Will were the oldest because it would mean he'd been held back a grade level. To me, that would add so much to a character who struggles with school. Will canonly doesn't like going to school and has said that sometimes the only reason he attends is Emory and his friends.

And he was clearly able to complete the work, even doing Emory's to a competent level, so there's no strong evidence to suggest a learning disability, such as Dyslexia or ADHD. Not to say that people with learning disabilities can't mask it or be smart enough to complete their work in spite of it, just that in Will's inner-thoughts, he doesn't acknowledge having to work that way, or that he was ever held back. He just says he doesn't like school, which is fair. Not everyone does.

I mean, I could argue that some of his behavior would be explained by ADHD, but there are also other explanations, so I'm not going to HC that.

But! If he was the oldest, and he did have a learning disability that he was masking that caused him to repeat a grade, it would do so much to flesh out his character.

I love the idea of him being the oldest but everyone thinking he's the youngest because of his behavior.

I love the idea of Michael, Kai, and Damon figuring it out without being told and doing what they can to help him and cover for him. It would also go towards why they let him get away with so much. They're so used to covering for him, that even when they're adults and it's no longer a viable reason for his behavior, they haven't adjusted their expectations of him.

I love the idea of him going back to college despite having money and a career already in place, despite having a history of not doing well in school and hating it.

There can be so much shame in being held back and I love the idea that this is yet another thing Will has the courage to do just because he wants to be good enough for Emory.
